The thriller genre is a way of telling stories that gives the reader, fear, anxiousness, and horror. Some techniques that the author used to create this thriller was, dramatic irony, meaning telling the reader something the protagonist doesn't know. He also uses cliffhangers at the end of each paragraph. It makes the story unpredictable and makes us wanting more. I think the author was very effective at creating a thriller because he kept us (the readers) scared, and worried for Rainsford. And we couldn't know until we read the rest if Rainsford lived the 3 days.

An ordinary essay should be around 5 paragraphs. The first would we the introduction, the second, third, and fourth would be body paragraphs, and the last would be the conclusion. The 3 body paragraphs would take about the 3 parts of the story. The first paragraph would about the exposition/rising action. The third would be about the climax, and the fourth would be falling action.

Thrillers are stories with suspense. They make the reader anxious and wanting to read more. Reading an effective thriller can make the reader feel nervous, or turn their stomach into knots. Richard Connell's, "The Most Dangerous Game" posses all these qualities. By using dialogue, Connell creates suspense, as the characters hint that something is wrong. Connell also uses dramatic irony. This can make the reader feel frustrated towards the characters, as the events slowly escalate without their knowing. finally, Connell uses darkness imagery where all the action takes place. By using these techniques, Richard Connell was able to create his story, "The Most Dangerous Game", into an effective thriller.

This essay will need three body paragraphs. The first one will talk about Connell's use of dialogue, the second will talk about dramatic irony in the story, and the third wil be about darkness imagery in "The Most Dangerous Game". There will also have to be a conclusion to summarize what was written in all three body paragraphs

"The Most Dangerous Game" in order to to truly complete these, applied setting, and dialogue to pursue fear, anxiety, and suspense into the reader. As long with applying the setting and dialogue to create the thriller a technique used in "The Most Dangerous Game" was the use of dramatic irony, one example of how dramatic irony impacted the story was when the audience understood what General Zaroff had in mind to hunt unlike Rainsford who was some what was naive of what Zaroff wanted to hunt until the end. Another technique Richard Connell used to accomplish a successful thriller was the use of alliteration throughout the story which added more of the feel of suspense into the story. Richard Connell was successful in applying fear, anxiety and suspense in his thriller.

An effective thriller gives the readers extreme emotions and fear for a character or multiple characters. One more component to a thriller is dramatic irony because the readers know what is going to happen but the characters do not. A good example of a thriller is Richard Connell's, "The Most Dangerous Game." Richard Connell was effective in creating a good thriller because in almost every paragraph I was on the edge of my seat wanting to warn Rainsford of the danger around him. The author uses darkness imagery to add tension and suspense. He successfully uses cliffhangers to build tension towards exciting and scary parts in the story.

The thriller genre allows people to practice being scared knowing it's not real. This genre has to sub categories horror and action. In order to have a successful thriller you need to have suspense, dramatic irony, fear, and anxiety weaving through the reader's brain. For example, in Richard Connell's "The Most Dangerous Game" he displays the action side of a thriller and the horror in some ways.

I will likely have two body paragraphs, one to explain Connell's horror side of the story and one to explain the action side of it. An effective thriller like The Most Dangerous game has the traits of dramatic irony, which builds suspense, darkness imagery, which makes the story mysterious and adds tension, and cliffhangers, which make the reader want to know what truly happened at the end of the story. Richard Connell's The Most Dangerous Game is an effective thriller because there are points of tension. For example, Zaroff is just playing with Rainsford and Rainsford is doing all he can to survive while Zaroff hunts him with inhumane ease.

I will have two to three body paragraphs in order to explain how this story is an effective thriller. In "The Most Dangerous Game", the author Richard Connell uses such tools.
1. At the beginning of the story, he uses dark imagery to describe the setting. It is a dark and mystical night at sea
2. The antagonist is described using predator imagery
3. Animal imagery to describe the dangerous island
4. The author uses dramatic irony to build up suspense. We the readers know what is in story for Rainsford, but he himself does not know
5. There is a contrast between General Zoroff's classy lifestyle and his savage treatment to humans
6. There is high paced action at the end of the story in order to build up suspense and excitement.
