      <description>An experienced finance and operations executive with an extensive background in the education sector, David Garafola most recently served seven years as chief financial officer and vice president of business affairs with Parker University in Dallas. In this role, he was responsible for matters relating to strategic planning, treasury leadership, and profit and loss management, among others. David Garafola previously served as chief business officer of Webster University from 1998 to 2010, during which time he oversaw an enrollment increase of more than 20,000 students and an operating budget increase of $185 million. He also structured financing of more than $600 million in turnkey projects via tax-exempt bond financing, Europe-based commercial loans, and other strategies.

From 1993 to 1998, David Garafola served as vice president of financial affairs with the College of Notre Dame of Maryland. He spent the first 13 years of his career in various finance-based roles with Towson University. Mr. Garafola earned an MBA from the University of Baltimore and a bachelor&#39;s degree in business administration and finance from Salisbury University. He maintains membership with numerous professional organizations, including the National Association of College and University Business Officers and the Association for Corporate Growth. He also regularly volunteers with groups working to support Dallas&#39; homeless community.</description>
