Online shopping started in 1994 and was pioneered by netmarket.com. Amazon and ebay followed suit immediately a year later. From then on, internet shopping became a big hit to the newer generations. Nowadays, it is more reliable and convenient than traditional shopping. However, online shopping has its own flaws and drawbacks.

Of the many advantages, convenience is a major factor which shines over traditional shopping. For example, it is less time and energy consuming to purchase goods online, since everything is just one click away. It is also easier to compare prices online as the information is available to everyone who has access to internet. Whereas for traditional shopping, it is necessary to visit numerous shops in order to find the most favorable item. 
 
 In contrast, online shoppers are more vulnerable to scams and swindlers as there is no guarantee and safety net attached. The quality of the product cannot be assured as it is hard to get a real time confirmation of the goods. There is no promise between the parties involved that the goods will be delivered and is almost impossible to track as most parties are anonymous. 

 To conclude, online shopping has it’s own pros and cons. It is imperative that we use it wisely in order to best benefit from it.

Nowadays majority of people prefer online shopping due to the fact of the advancement of technology. Statistic shows 96% of Americans shop online, as a result causing the traditional method of shopping to be less popular for the public. However, online shopping may not be the best option for all the products. Therefore ,there are advantages amd disadvantages for online shopping. 

-Advantages-
More convenient - save time by parking , checking other shops , you can shop 24/7 , some items can be downloadable (games),no crowd

Easier to compare - most of the website online allows us to compare items from different brands from a neutral perspective, reviews from owner also available , filter the specifications in an organize format.

-Disadvantages-
Delay in delivery -When the demand of a product is high there is a likely chance where the product will not be deliver on time because of less manpower 
-Unsure of the quality-
The quality of the product cannot be properly examine so there is a high probability to get a product which does not meet expectations or as a fake.
-Unable to receive sufficient information-
During online shopping ,we are unable to ask more details from a professional point of view.

Conclusion
Eventhough the advantages of online shopping the disadvantages still overlaps them as illustrated in the paragraphs above.There still can be alot of improvements that can be made so as to make the online shopping more efficient.For example the platform needs to ensure that the quality of the product that they sell is of value for their money.
This can ensure that everyone can enjoy the privilege of online shopping.

ADVANTAGES:
Convenience in online shopping

- Able to purchase items wherever you are and whenever you want to

Save time
- do not have to waste time on queueing up
- do not have to travel all the way out just to get one item
- do not have to look for parking spots

More variety of products
- compare prices of different region
- able to get limited edition product
- able to get products that are not available in certain countries

DISADVANTAGES
Scammer
- receive fake products
- seller did not deliver product after payment

Unsure quality of product
- different size
- not sure if it is a second hand product
- product not in good condition
- no warranty

CONCLUSION 
All in all, online shopping has more advantages than disadvantages. As consumers, we have to be wise while doing online shopping. Governments should take legal actions on untrusted sites so that consumers can get rid of scammers and consumers’ rights are protected.
