Stopping climate change is a real emergency even in the Pandemic age! What can we do? I think it's very important to educate young people to help th planet. So as a teacher i foster my sts sense of being part of a big community-the world they live in. At school but also at home we often engage mini campaign to reduce waste, to reduce and recycle in order to prevent risks related to climate changes. Responsible production and consumption is really a gret goal to achieve! It can be done without giving up economic growth.
I think it's necessary to take action, all together, all peple can play their part! In order to foster sustainable development both in younger and in elder generations you need to support a right sense of being part of the same community. That's why my students and I joined the etwinning project "In our hands". Reduce, reuse and recycle may teach how to act for responsible consumption. Our project focuses on the three key words reduce, reuse, recycle as a key to achieve sustainable development taking care of how we use natural resources-water, food, energy are precious, too precious to be wasted!

Goals

-Recognize the impact of microplastics on the marine environment;

-Identify products / materials that have microplastics or that can give rise to them.

Procedures:

-Install an application Beat the Microbead;

-Bring the camera closer to the smartphone to read the barcode.

The environment, sustainability, global warming, biodiversity – these are topics which engage young people across the world; yet while many are ‘talking the talk’, they are not all ‘walking the walk’. Our Erasmus+ school project aims to capture the interest of our students in the natural world and the environment and help them to make changes that will ensure the sustainable future that they are campaigning for.

Although young people are worried about the future of our planet, many are not making the small changes in their lives that would help to safeguard the planet. Food waste, conspicuous consumption and reluctant recyclers are present in our schools in Belgium, France, Germany, Northern Macedonia, Slovenia and Scotland (UK). The project will encourage the small steps which can be taken by everyone for the good of all.

The embedding of the United Nations Sustainable Goals for Development in our school curricula provides a direct link between this project and the current evolution of each school’s syllabus.

The reading list for children and youth for promoting sustainable development is a contribution to the achievement of the 17 goals of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. We are currently involved in an Erasmus KA229 project (our first ever! 😍) and an etwinning project about climate change. We've had some local activities with the students, but the mobilities couldn't be organised, because of the pandemic... The local activities included sharing photos of what our area looks liek in various seasons and if the weather "respects the calendar" as it should or if it behaves in a strange way. The most recent example is that it recently snowed in April, when normally April is a warm and lovely month... And other such activities.

The rate of clean water is getting worse all over the world. Some people do not have access to clean water. We should use our water sustainably and not waste it unnecessarily. We collect rain water with my students and then we water this water in our garden or in our house by drip-drip pot flowers. We put half-liter water bottles in the reservoirs so we don't waste a lot of water in the toilets. We even have an eTwinning project in this direction.

Every year our school works in partnership on various projects. This year students are working alongside other projects on 2 projects in German. One project seeks to raise awareness about a healthy lifestyle, eating habits, so it is called Tasty and Healthy. The second project deals with mental health in this time of pandemic and how to work on improving the quality of life and in such conditions.

A project on the value of nutrition and an excerpt from Eric Carle's book "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" we observed what happened to the caterpillar on the days when it ate fruit and salad and on Saturday when it ate a lot of sweet and savory. The caterpillar Prasinoula builds the pyramid of healthy eating and teaches us by her example!Through the project, students build their own food pyramid, based on the Mediterranean diet. We have just finished last year a project called 17 SDG, and we analysed goals 3,4,5,13,17. Studennts were asked to research o n goal 3 and 4 resources as well. They make a connection between the goals. Of course there is a need for being heakthy at mind and body and also have opportunity for a giid edi=ucation. The link between these goals is that without a healthy body there is no possibility for healthy education.

Our idea in our school is to make a Green Team made up of a smal group of students , who have the task to look at the garbage bins, especially in the lunchroom to see if everything is working in the right way. The great problem is, infact, waste because a lot of students don't know exactly where to put garbage. Many times the garbage ends up into the recycling bins , that may sounds a good thing, but it is not exactly the right thing to do, as from recycled paper or plastic we can make something new. Green Team will also teach the younger students how to recycle correctly. The thing is that you don't need a permission to try to make the world a better place:
Just do it!

This year we work on water and agriculture, which is the greater consumer. I try to embed SDG 6 in the curriculum of Crop production department of my VET school.

The activities with the students always highlighted the concern for water by developing certain projects to raise awareness of pollution and its repercussions, to warn about the economy of drinking water, to keep water resources as clean as possible, about how aquatic fauna is affected.

We conducted a lot of eTwinning projects related to climate change and are also implemented two erasmus+ projects. The one is called "Locavorism" and the other one "Eat Smart Save Your Land". In the last one through nine modules students follow the path of food from farm to table. There's one module related to climate change. We focus on the impact of climate change to food safety but also developed lots of things as we would like to spread awareness so as students change their eating haabits not only for their health but also for planet's. In this module we also designed an escape room related to greenhouse effect.

I'm an English teacher in Turkey, one of the greenest district of Samsun. There are lot of problems and their solutions to the environmental problems but my basic philosophy for my project is the awareness,raising awareness, making the students awake about the nature they live in. So generally, I try to incorporate activities and discussions into my lessons that help students develop a sense of responsibility toward their environment. I encourage them to observe their surroundings, understand the importance of sustainability, and think critically about their role in protecting nature. By combining language learning with environmental themes, I aim to inspire students to take small but meaningful actions that contribute to a healthier planet.for example planting a tree and giving a name for it and reading our books under it. Or being a member of nature protection organizations, writing a nature dairy.
