I have selected 3 different assessment methods to help me find out which aspect of writing does Winnie require support, what is the cause of the challenge and to determine her  level of competence in that area of challenge.

Mackenzie and Scull (2016, p.35) highlights that effective teaching of writing needs adults to "focus on the content and process of writing, developing students’ control over both the authorial (text structure, sentence structure and vocabulary) and editorial dimensions (spelling, punctuation and handwriting) of writing". Analysing the work samples using the "Writing Analysis Tool" to identify focus area for teaching (Mackenzie & Scull, 2016) allows teachers to design strategies that would effectively support children in a specific area.
