Prior to the move, Kim lived with her older siblings for about a year and regularly looked after their children. The younger siblings, now Better Futures clients, seek the possibility of finding a residence where Kim can live with them too. Kim’s father remarried and had a child. Her mother completed rehab, still struggles with homelessness and stays with the older siblings; having a fall out with Kim over substance misuse concerns, which now includes smoking marijuana. Kim’s boyfriend has issues with substance misuse and works full-time in traffic control, got her a part-time job, though work is inconsistent as is the income. Police have responded to a noise complaint, and a family violence concern at the residence, though this was not substantiated.
