Wind has been used as a source of energy for thousands of years. For sailing because it was the only way for transportation across seas. Windmills were first used in Hellenistic Greece. Heron of Alexandria, a Greek engineer who invented an organ powered by a windwheel, was considered the first to effectively use wind to accomplish a goal other than sailing. It was first used in between 10-70 A.D. Windmill technology first took off in central Persia in Ninth Century A.D. In 1877, James Blyth, a professor of Anderson’s College in Scotland, created a 10-meter-high turbine that was successfully used to charge accumulators to power his holiday cottage in Kincardinshire. In the 20thCentury, during the 1970’s, a huge push was made to begin using wind energy in the U.S. Now, wind energy may be considered the energy source of the future. We use it because it is cost-effective, creates jobs. (Employed more than 100,000 workers in 2016. It enables U.S. industry growth and competitiveness. It’s an organic energy source and is sustainable. We use it as a source to power energy for farms and ranches as a more efficient way to produce food for storage When wind turbines blades begin spinning they generate electricity to power anything needed. Wind energy is needed in rural areas to generate electricity where it is needed. It isn’t used in urban areas because they have power plants that make products that generate electricity at a rapid pace. There are energy parks across the world that use wind turbines to generate electricity in an efficient and sustainable way. Wind power is 100% used to produce electricity. Wind turbines don’t produce heat, but heat can be used to used to assist the wind turbines to produce electricity.
