I notice that my values as both a student and teacher are similar. This is interesting because most of my experience comes from being a student, but I want to carry the values that I admire from my prior teachers into the classroom. For example, as a student I really enjoyed classes where my teachers had engaging activities. I therefore want to do the same as a teacher and will value interactive lessons.

That said, there are aspects of myself that shine through as a student, that don't when I'm teaching, and vice versa. As a teacher I might highlight mistakes I make as a teaching tool, whereas as a student I might take my mistakes more personally.

I think they change very slightly because I tend to treat people equally and I think it is good to put students on the same level (when appropriate) and up tot eh same expectations. I think I do demonstrate a switch as there is authority that comes with being a teacher as opposed to a student so I am more in charge of being consciously aware and considerate of all.

I feel that the way I would describe myself as a student or teacher are reflected in my values in both roles. Overall, I feel that certain values are more important to me depending on the view. For example, as a teacher, I value honesty as it lets me build bonds where the students and I can trust each other. As a student, I value this, but I value things like patience more as it lets me feel a better sense of belonging. Overall, my values remain the same, but some other values come up when I think of me as a teacher.
