The United States would receive the right to fish off Canada’s Atlantic Coast, near Newfoundland and Nova Scotia. Each side would repay debts it owed the other. The British would return any enslaved persons they had captured. Congress would recommend that the states return any property they had seized from Loyalists. When the treaty was made it has solved a big problem for everyone. It had split up the thirteen colonies and made America independent and separate from Britain, also it had ended the revolutionary war. It had helped many people who was suffering under British rule and could now be free and independent in America. On the downside  Neither Britain nor the United States fully lived up to the treaty’s terms. Americans did not repay the prewar debts they owed British merchants or return Loyalist property. For their part, the British did not return  runaway slaves. I'm very upset that we had lost to the colonists. We do everything to help Britain get money and supplies for what they need and they want to leave because of that? I think they are just selfish people who don;t appreciate anything that they have. Now it is going to be harder for us to get money and supplies because we don't have anyone to get it from or work for us. We really didn't like this idea but we had to agree. I just hope that “...some have to lament over the wreck of their departed wealth and estates”. I wish that for the American's of course. Now were going to have to find a way to get things for ourselves which is going to be harder then we thought since we really never had done things for ourselves.

We had always had to listen to the British and do what they wanted and what they had said. But now we are a new nation. We are our own people , we are independent. We don't have to listen to what the British tell us to do anymore! We are so thankful for what has happened that we can be in peace and not have to be overworked or taken advantaged of. I'm so happy that “I hope i shall one day find land enough to lay my  bones in."
