Students need to be involved in the learning process. Sitting passively wont allow students to active their higher order thinking skills. Students who participate and engage in their own learning will be able to analyze, critic and evaluate new information to gain a deeper understanding of the world around them. My job as an educator is to spark wonder and inspire students natural curiosity. Attached is a video from my student teaching where kids completed the Milk in Motion experiment.

This is helpful to get kids thinking about circuits in a very hands on, tactile and creative way. He gets kids actively involved in math investigations through Three Act Math. Kids watch a video and use math to make sense of what is happening. A great opener for math class and a fun way to have kids see math in the real world.
