If it is a detailed passage you have read remember to add that detail in your drawing. It can also help you plan a short story. If you visualise a beginning, middle and end. When do we use them in English?<br></em><br></div><div>Contractions are two words joined together to make one shorter word. <br><br></div><div><strong>I am </strong>becomes <strong>I’m<br></strong><br></div><div><strong>Should not</strong> changes to <strong>Shouldn’t<br></strong><br></div><div>Please have a look at the attached PowerPoint to see where the apostrophe should go. There are rules to each case.<br><br></div><div>Read through the paragraph and rewrite changing the contractions where you spot them!<br><br></div><div>I have attached some extra work sheets for practice too. It’s something I know you have covered before but I want you to focus on where the apostrophe goes and watch out for the tricky ones. <br><br></div><div><strong>Cannot becomes can’t.<br></strong><br></div>]]></description>
