What is a mandala

The word mandala come from the Indian language of Sanskrit. It is loosely translated to 'circle', but has a far deeper meaning than just a shape. Mandalas represent wholeness and can be seen in all aspects of life: earth, moon, sun, as well as conceptual circles of friends, family, and community.

after searching around for something I came across this website were you can create and color your own mandala. I think this would be a good introductions for to learn about how mandalas are created. (Stephanie Bush)

This is such an in-depth unit that i think it is important for students to be able to explore others ideas and see what other students are creating. Google docs would be a huge factor in this because the students will have their own doc to show-off their art work and a place where even the teacher can check in an add ideas.
