         <description><![CDATA[<div>The visit to Mentone Grammar School has been very enriching. The sharing by Head, T&amp;L on Staff Development has brought much insight about partnership with university academics to coach our students in their lesson design, delivery and assessment. They also have a very comprehensive student performance management system which allows the teacher or parent to know the performance of the child at any point of time. The sharing also included the IP (English and Math) and Student Well-being team. It showed that the school provides a holistic education to their students. I also had a chance to dialogue with the Director,  Development Office to better understand the school's effort in working with alumni, parents and the community. The school has a 94 years of history and they are now planning for the centennial celebrations.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Mentone grammar implements the changes in a systematic manner that allows its staff to learn the new strategies.. the leaders themselves led by examples and learn together with the other teachers. <br>Teachers do their preparation so that in class, the students do the work while the teacher facilitate or after the teacher has taught. The culture that it is ok not to know is something that teachers must emphasize on more in classes. <br>The teacher's belief in teaching and learning will determine what happens in the class.teacher must believe that when something does not work well in class is not the fault of students, but it is a case for teachers to do deeper reflection. <br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The sharing by different Mentone College's heads and VP as well as the 15 min lesson observation were very impressive and enriching. The teachers in Mentone value the importance of feedback. They use different techniques of feedback to ensure their students read, response, think through and reflect upon the feedback given. Some of the methods shared really struke a chord with me. For example, the teacher asks students to match the different feedback provided with the different mistakes made; the use of error logs/ reflection sheets to promote the deep learning. As we know, feedback is a very essential part of formative assessment. I will definitely share these interesting and useful techniques of feedback with my teachers. Besides, one of my observations from the visit to Mentone College is, the teachers and the SLs share the same beliefs/vision of the educational outcomes they hope to see from the school. This common shared vision as well as the good dynamics between the SLs and teachers explain the good behaviour of their students during the lessons andtheir positive school culture.</div>]]></description>
