The role of the teacher is to help the student to discover and develop their ability to write through direct and indirect training exercises. Among the indirect training exercises, there are:
- games with geometric shapes that the child inserts into the appropriate holders, holding them with the three-finger grip button;
- soaking the toes in the warm water and making the effort "to keep your hand suspended, raising it upright";
- Feeling different contours and fitting shapes into appropriate frames.
Direct training exercises include drawing drawings and letterpress exercises.
The pupil is given various patterns for shaping figures, after which he is asked to color them without exceeding the contour. The purpose of this exercise is to make the little one accustomed to repetitive movements specific to line and sticks. The difference between the free drawing and the drawing of lines is that the preschooler who learns to write does not tire.

In my opinion, it is crucial to bear in mind some students might be overwhelmed with this type of tasks if addressing to a public who is more knowledgeable than they are, that is why I think the idea of writing letters to explain something to younger students or friends, might be less challenging but allowing the students to perform those connections we mentioned above without feeling such a pressure.

Writing to learn activities are important to use in the classroom because students need to be able to communicate knowledge to others. This is an important life skill. Using writing activities in a science class helps students see that writing is a skill that is used in all content settings, not just in writing class or language arts. Writing to learn exercises also provide opportunities for students to reflect on their thinking and learning which often helps them clarify and refine thinking. When you try and put something into words you sometimes realize that you need more clarification before you can do that so you go and do further investigation, reading, study, or research. Writing to learn activities are also useful for the teacher in assessing student understanding. When students write, you can often uncover misconceptions or gaps in their knowledge from the things they say.
