First I will like to say my name is Emily Fan Siang Yun or can call me Emily because I know my full name is very long right? HAHAHAHA... Now, I am called as an UNIMAS student. My program is Services Economics under Faculty of Economics and Business. I am 20 years old and my birthday is on 23 February 2000. I was born in Sawarak and live in Kampung Seberang Maludam, Pusa, Betong. It is a rather remote place. If want go to Kuching will takes about 3 hours' drive but also depending on traffic. There are 5 people in my family. They are my parents, my 2 brother and me. 

I also have some part-time jobs' experiences. The part-time jobs let me experience that it is not easy to earn money. So I am very grateful to my parents for working hard to earn money just because of giving us a happy family. I have learned a lot of things during work such as how to deal with difficult people or customers and the different company have the different business ideas or strategies.

I choose UNIMAS is because UNIMAS is at Sarawak and I don't want to leave too far away from my family. I am feel very happy when I received the offer letter from UNIMAS and UNIMAS also is my first choice. My expectation is after graduate from UNIMAS I can get a good job. I want to gain more knowledge and learn more in study. My parents' also hope me can get a good job after graduate from UNIMAS.

First I go to UNIMAS library or can called it Perpustakaan Tun Abdul Rahman Ya'kub (PeTARY) website which is www.library.unimas.my. I also go to youtube watching the some introduce and step to use the PeTARY website. 

The website is very useful for students and lectures to search the information specially for the students who needs the extra information or knowledge. For this semester I feel very disappointed because can't go to the library because of the COVID-19 cause the first year semester 1 students stay at home and use online class for attendant the lectures class. 

I use the petary one search to search the textbook references related to courses this semester, 2 novel, one English and one Malay languages novel, E-journal published by UNIMAS and newspaper articles in 2020. When search it just need tap the keyword the the system will show the results. In the website also have one option is advanced search. The advanced search is for who want the specific results because it can search use base on author, publisher, date published and others. 

For E-book and online database I go to home page and click the ONLINE RESOURCES and go to E-COLLECTIONS. After click E-COLLECTIONS will have many option and can see the selection for  E-journals, E-book and E-database and others online resources.

Lastly, I think the library website is very nice because it can save students' time and it is very convenient. Student no need to waste time on finding books because using the website can directly know the book call numbers.

I just the siswa email to contact and request an academic advisor session appointment with my academic advisor.

My first question to my academic advisor is I ask he share some advice on how to handle difficult people in group assignment. For example, have some of us in group are not active with the group discussion because as I know students always faced this problems. He give me some advices are my group shall arrange online meeting regularly to discuss assignment and before they join the meetings, get every member to prepare what were assigned and among yourselves beforehand. 

I also ask he how to improve my English language because the English is very important nowadays. He give suggestion is make more practice, read text aloud, listen to English news and refer or observe more academic writing in journal articles.
