Classical Conditioning: A learning process where an association is created between two stimuli, resulting in a new learned response.

Operant Conditioning: A learning process that uses rewards and punishment to modify behavior.

Social Observational Learning: A psychological process that involves learning by observing and imitating the behavior of others.

CC: When I was old enough to take out my dog Simba like when I was like 5 or 6 I would grab his leash so I could put it on his collar to get it up. That was like a Neutral Stimuli since when I grab the leash he hasn’t done anything yet since he still hasn’t figured out that it’s his favorite thing to do yet. As time went on my dog began to have an unconditioned stimuli to me opening the where the leash was put away. He starts jumping on me, barking at me and run around circles around me to show his excitement when I open the door to the closet, that was his reflex. When we moved to another apartment the same that happened like he has some sort of conditioned response where theres times where he sees a closet and does the same thing as the old apartments but theres time where he doesn’t do it sometimes. He’s old now and he just walks and sits instead of run and bark.

OC: My junior year summer heading to senior year I went to Fort Jackson to do BCT(Basic Combat Training). In there if we do something bad we get in trouble by something called being Smoked. Where we do physical exercises as a negative punishments. But there were also positive punishments in boot camp. Since my company was always getting into trouble we would have a continuous reinforcement of negative punishment like low crawling in the field with our rifles, doing lunges with our armor on, or doing trip wire. The times we got a positive punishment was when we won competitions where we got awarded with fun stuff like extra time on our phones and eat candy that came from our MREs and more stuff. We also had to pay very close attention when an NCO or Officer comes in because we have to say “AT EASE” or Company Attention” because if we don’t then we will be reinforced on our customs and curtesies.

SOL: When I joined NJROTC I didn’t know nothing for drill whether it was armed or unarmed. When I was a cadet seamen recruit I was taught drill by my platoon commander by being visually taught in how to drill so I paid Attention in how to do it because I found a motivation for it since i was enjoying it so much that I learned by socially observing.

Experiment one, Operant Conditioning: Training a rat to press a lever for food.

Hypothesis: If the rat keeps pressing the lever and keeps getting food because of it, the rat will keep pressing the lever increasing the amount of times the rat uses the lever.

Explanation: In this experiment the rat is put in some sort of contraption which is designed to do a positive punishment with doing a continuous reinforcement of pulling the lever with keeping a retention of the rat getting food every time the rat pulls the lever. What this experiment will show is how the rats voluntary behavior to pull the lever to get food after using it.

Experiment two, Observational Learning in sharing behavior.

Hypothesis: If children from ages to 1-6 have someone who’s 16+ years who shares their stuff then the children will be most likely to be sharing their stuff as well.

Explanation: How this experiment works is by making the kids witness the older people in sharing. This observational learning from the kids to the older people will influence them to make the right choices. The more the old folks show the kids in how to share, the kids will have a retention of this action reinforcing the good behavior out of these kids showing the success of the Albert Bandura theory by learning/influence by social-cultural influence.

SOL: the article takes about the learning based on how a person talks or acts is how the other people see you when being looked at. When someone talks about smart or intelligent stuff then someone from the outside will see them as an intelligent person. Another example about this is if you’re talking in a serious tone then someone will perceive you as a very serious and negative person who doesn’t have any fun. Through all this time everyone and mostly a lot of the scientist think the social observational learning is very important to today’s society. And all those people out there that think that aren’t wrong as parents or even the school environment are meant for SOL to happen as children are looking up ay their parents or teachers to see in how to do stuff.

In conclusion we used the Social Observing Learning method every day since our birth to our death. It’s important because it’s the back bone of our childhood that helps us grow up and help us decide our future and in how we want to live it. It helps us understand human behavior because with SOL it will help us learn why that person act the way he/she does by looking at their past history and actions. It helps us learn more about the person to the point we can be guessing their next move. That’s why SOL is important for us in a every day world.
