Some artists use this musical tactic because they believe that the song can not be captured with one set of sounds or one bound rhythm. The artist, in turn, sort of evolves the song as he or she goes along. The words endless inventory are used because it seems like the artist keeps pulling things out of a true 'endless inventory.' This tool is very helpful when the song wants to seem like a story. The song, or piece, truly sounds like it has a beginning, middle, and end.
