The first one would be that Spain began to have a lot of problems with the rest of Europe. This lead for them to begin placing large taxes on people from the colonies so they pay for supplies. This lead for the colonists in Mexico to feel distant from their home country and they also began to feel that they were being controlled by a country that was far away from them and that didn't care much about them. This is where Father Miguel Hidalgo comes in. He didn't like how Spain was treating the people and how the country wasn't concerned about them at all. This lead for him to give out the most important speech in Mexican history, "El Grito" this is is what motivated many Mexican citizens to fight against the Spanish empire and the Spanish authorities. In Mexico they don't only speak Spanish but they also speak other native languages. Spanish being the official language of Mexico followed by 68 other native languages. Some of those languages would be Nahuatl and Maya. Another thing it would be the culture of Die de Los Muertos. This is a celebration that is a big part of Mexico that is celebrated every year. Catholicism is also the most common religion in Mexico. This was due to the fact that it stayed with the people when the Spanish came over trying to show their religious teachings to the native people. They are the symbols that represent where you come from and were you are.
