During our study we have discussed the Average British, American and Russian families and we also refreshed our knowledge of vocabulary of homes and buildings.

As for the family types, firstly, the information was absolutely useless only because of its irrelevance. Secondly, there were only a few words I didn`t know before. I`m not complaining, because I have managed to significantly improve my speaking skills by discussing and telling information out-loud. The fact, that there were some unknown words for me means it was not completely useless.

Speaking about the vocabulary of buildings, it was useless personally for me, because I already knew those words. There was not a single word I didn`t know before.

Al in all, there were no difficulties for me during all the tasks and I didn`t have any problems at all. If I were given such a research task again, I would put more effort into finding really useful information and shorten it in order to remember more.

Apart from this, I believe that practice makes perfect, that’s why I don`t complain about such easy tasks and learning present simple tense in University. I am convinced that such full repetition can take my English skills to a new level.

To call of - отменить что то 

To zone out - отключиться (засмотреться и уйти в себя, сильно задуматься)

To size up - оценивать кого то что то

To dish out - выдать критику, осуждение спокойно/ высказаться о чем то не подумав

To clash with - конфликтовать

To weed out - отсеивать

To muster up - собраться (с силами)

To dispose of - избавиться от чего то, выкинуть

To fizzle out - закончиться, потухнуть (прямой и переносный смыслы)
