What about no teachers at school?

Having no teachers at school might sound innovative, but it comes with big challenges. Self-learning can help students gain knowledge, but teachers do much more than just provide information. They guide, inspire, and adapt to individual needs in many ways that AI or online tools can’t. Without teachers, learning could be extremely difficult for students, and it would be the fastest way for many to fall behind. Instead of removing teacher at school, we have to figure out a way for AI and teacher coexist.

Evaluate your growth over the semester 😲

I would give myself a score of 4.5 out of 5.
Through this course, I learned a lot about how to incorporate AI and IT into English education. Instead of focusing solely on exams and theory, I had the opportunity to experience and create things myself. This made me think more about how to teach students in easier and more engaging ways.
Not only did it benefit my students, but I also feel that I’ve been able to adapt more quickly to the rapidly evolving world of AI. That’s why I gave myself a score of 4.5 😄

Reflection of my AI literacy

To be honest, before taking this course, I preferred searching for and acquiring information on my own rather than using AI.

This was because, in my previous experiences with AI, I felt that I had to write multiple prompts to find exactly what I wanted, and this process seemed overly complicated.
However, looking back after completing the semester, I realized that the reason it felt so complicated was actually a misunderstanding on my part. In other words, I hadn’t been giving clear prompts.
Now, after one semester, I’ve learned how to provide more precise prompts and I can obtain clearly and more useful information.
Because of this growth, now I believe it’s important to collaborate with AI and adapt to working alongside it in the future.

My AI literacy before the course: 1.5/5 → After the course: 4/5

My Challenges.... 😞

The most difficult challenge I faced while using AI was writing effective prompts.
At first, I didn’t even know what kind of questions to ask in order to get useful results, and I often felt frustrated when I couldn’t receive the exact answers I was looking for.
The second major challenge was AI hallucination. In order to get accurate information, I had to spend time verifying whether the content provided by AI was actually correct. Through this process, I realized that I needed to have some prior knowledge about the topic myself in order to determine whether the information was accurate or not.

Breakthrough 💪🏻

My breakthrough in overcoming these challenges began with writing prompts on my own and checking whether they could actually lead me to the information I wanted. After that, I started asking AI the reverse question by telling it that I wanted to find information about a specific topic and asking it to create an effective prompt to help me get that information. This approach helped me gradually learn how to craft more precise and effective prompts to get accurate answers.

Secondly, instead of relying on AI to provide all the information from the beginning, I began by learning the basic knowledge myself and then using AI as a tool to apply and expand on that knowledge. I realized that using AI without a solid foundation could lead to serious errors, so I started treating AI as my personal assistant who excels at generating ideas and offering creative applications based on the knowledge I already have.
