Convert Decimals to Fractions

1) You convert them because decimals are estimates and fractions are more exact.

2) First you look to see if it has a whole number in front of the decimal like 1 in the ones place and put it beside the fraction .Then you look past the decimal to see if there is anything in the tenths, hundredths or thousandths place. Then whatever place it is in is your denominator. So then the number that is past the decimal is the numerator. So then you need to simplify if you can.

1) You multiply decimals to find the product of 2 numbers using money, distances, measurements, etc.

2) first you look at the number you are multiplying.

1) You round decimals so that you don´t have to do all the work to solve the normal problem and its way easier. You also need no how because if you ever have a 20.00 bill and you're getting something for $5.93 and something for $8.06 and you can round to see if you have the right amount of money yo buy it.

2)First you look at the number beside of it and if it is bigger than 5 it will get and if it is 4 or less then it will get smaller or stay the same.

Dividing Decimals

1) You divide decimals so you can figure out how many groups there are of something. You also divide decimals so you can tell someone if they order something and they get a 10 percent discount you will have to divide by .1 then you need to know how to divide.

2)So, the first thing you need to do is put up your decimal then you start dividing. Next you need to keep adding zeros till you get the same number. So if you have a remainder then you need to annex an zero, like this one 600 divided by 80 you would need to annex a zero. Also when you divide decimals and your dividing something like this .5 divided by 86.74 then you would need to maintain the quality by dividing both of them by 10
