I want to choose to study the changes that the marketing of sports brands has brought to society, such as the marketing methods of some well-known brands and the contributions they have made to society. On the weekend, I looked up information about Nike. Their brand positioning and their ability to precisely target their customers in marketing are very worthy of our learning.

Example of Academic Writing Style A strong academic argument requires

evidence-based claims and logical structure. As Smith (2020) notes, "peer-reviewed sources lend credibility to scholarly work"(p.15). Researchers must contextualize findings within existing literature while

avoiding subjective language. For instance, instead of stating "this proves the theory," one should write "these results support the hypothesis (Jones et al., 2019)." Precise terminology and consistent citation formats(APA/MLA)are essential. Ultimately, academic writing balances critical analysis with

objectivity, ensuring readers can evaluate arguments independently.

Source: Harvard College Writing Center https://writingcenter.fas.harvard.edu/ pages/how-write-academic-essay

Greta Thunberg and Malala Yousafzai are two of the most influential young activists of our time, inspiring global movements for climate justice and girls’ education, respectively. While their causes differ, both have faced immense challenges and achieved remarkable success. This essay will compare their lives, activism, and effectiveness, arguing that their courage and persistence make them powerful role models despite differing approaches.

Similarities

Both activists demonstrate extraordinary resilience and a refusal to be silenced. Greta, diagnosed with autism, turned her perceived limitations into strength, leading school strikes that mobilized millions. Similarly, Malala risked her life by anonymously blogging about Taliban atrocities, surviving an assassination attempt to amplify her message. Their shared traits—moral clarity, media savvy, and grassroots organizing—have made them symbols of youth empowerment. Additionally, both faced backlash: Greta from climate deniers, Malala from extremists. Their ability to persist despite threats highlights their shared courage.

Differences

Their activism diverges in strategy and context. Greta’s approach is confrontational, using blunt speeches (“How dare you?”) to shame policymakers for inaction. Her tactics rely on mass protests and social media virality. In contrast, Malala works within institutions, partnering with the UN and founding schools to create systemic change. While Greta’s activism is decentralized, Malala’s is personal—her story of survival humanizes her cause. Culturally, Greta challenges Western consumerism, whereas Malala fights patriarchal violence in South Asia. These differences reflect how activism adapts to its environment.

Conclusion

Both activists are undeniably effective, but their impact differs. Greta’s strength lies in awakening global consciousness, while Malala’s advocacy has tangible policy outcomes, like Pakistan’s education reforms. Personally, I find Malala’s intersection of personal sacrifice and systemic change most compelling, though Greta’s unapologetic urgency is equally vital. Their stories prove that activism takes many forms—all essential in today’s world.

During the exam on Friday, I realized that I still have some difficulties in reading. Because I encountered many unfamiliar words and couldn't understand the meaning of the text. As a result, it took me too much time to read the text. When doing the reading questions, I felt overwhelmed. For me, time was insufficient. I think I still need to enhance my vocabulary accumulation. What made me feel a bit difficult this time was the final essay. It required comparing the two previous articles. Because I didn't understand many parts, it led to a limited writing part. I didn't know how to start either. This was the most difficult part for me. Usually, I enjoy writing the most. But this time, I think this way of comparing is a bit difficult. I believe all of these are inseparable from the accumulation of words and sentences. So in the coming time, I hope I can strive to accumulate words and do some reading training. Because I also found that some English translations have many differences from Chinese translations. Even a slight difference can change the meaning of many sentences. This is what I thought after this exam. I hope I can keep improving.
