A Graphic Novel

Around the World
In this book, there are 3 stories of people who have traveled around the world. For example, Thomas Stevens rode around the world on his bike, making biking incredibly popular. Nellie Bly went around the world in 74 days beating Phileas Fogg. Lastly, Joshua Slocum, went around the world on his boat, returned, left again, and never came back. I would rate this book 4 stars because it makes a graphic novel be interesting and informational.

A "Classic" YA Book

Robinson Crusoe
I loved this book. This is a DEFINE 5 out of 5. I love how from being a person who survived a shipwreck he became a person who manged to survive on an uninhabited island, one that had no humans, only animals. I love the story and love how many homes he made and how he became so comfortable not talking and living alone. My least favorite part is when he sees the first humans coming and the disappointment of finding his parents dead when he comes back. I, honestly, think that this book is very tempting to read once you get to the survival part.

A Book Set in Another World

MagoniaI liked Magonia because it starts out with the setting with a normal character, Aza, a human with a very rare disease, and Jason, her friend. They are normal, until Aza dies in our world and gets reborn in another, Magonia a world that lives on ships and sails the sky. Everything would be all right if Magonia wasn't planning on destroying earth and having a war. Aza is forced to sing a ocean up from the earth, where she nearly kills Jason, and then a terrible thought hits her: would she prefer to stay with her mother, or Jason. I would rate this book 5 stars, because it is very confusing at times. There is a second book that I can't wait to read.

Inside out and Back Again
With the Vietnam war started and their father missing, the main character Ha, and her family have to move to Alabama, by escaping Vietnam. I would say that my favorite character from this book is the 'cowboy' who houses Ha's family after her run. He would have been harassed if anyone found out about the Vietnamese family. I would rate this book with 3 stars, because it is good, but I think it needs a sequel.

The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie
I read this book not for the mystery content for the book bingo, but just because I was interested in reading it. I did not get how or why the book was called The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie, because even after I read the book, it made no sense. I would rate this book 4 stars because the end and answer to the mystery is good, but it is very confusing and hard. But even with that, it is a very good book and it takes quite some time to work up such a plot.
