- Monkman is one of the key figures in the Indigenous resurgence movement, and his art contains historical themes and the clash between Indigenous and European worldviews. I think looking at and critically analyzing his work after reading this article would be a good way to engage students are more artistically minded. If possible, the use of this would precede a trip to an art gallery where Monkman's work is on display.

- In order for students to understand clearly Indigenous peoples and their cultures, it's important for them to first understand that Indigenous peoples are not a monolith. Thus before we look deeper at resilience and resistance I would have a lesson talking discussion the diversity that exists within the Indigenous community and intersectionalities within it. - Diving in deeper to key concepts shared by Indigenous peoples on Turtle Island, this video presents Cree, Blackfoot, Dene and Nakota speakers as they discuss the importance that ties to the land has for their beliefs and worldviews. This would be used to help students further understand aspects of Indigenous culture that survived the attempted cultural erasure. - As I've said throughout this AQ course, we as teachers of specific obligations outlined in the Calls to Action. This is natural seeing as how the education system was one of the major perpetrators of injustice towards Indigenous peoples. At the very least, teachers should be coming up with new ways to lead land acknowledgements in their class, which I found in my practicums to often be rote, mechanical, and devoid of substance. This resource here offers some good tips about how to make land acknowledgements more meaningful, for example stressing one must do the research and take part in other meaningful action to further reconciliation.
