Their culture wouldn't have been what it was without religion because some colonizers were escaping from being killed because of their religion and from there on people had really strict religion. Natural Geographic says, "The southern colonies had large plantations that required slave labor. Religion also played a major role in shaping some local cultures; many people who colonized North America were fleeing religious persecution in their home country and implemented strict religious-based rules in the colonies where they settled."

Their economy was great for growing crops plants, but their main thing to plant was grains and oats. They handmade a lot things like, making paper, ships and textile and it was very important for the Middle Colonies. "The Middle Colonies enjoyed a successful and diverse economy. Largely agricultural, farms in this region grew numerous kinds of crops, most notably grains and oats. Logging, shipbuilding, textiles production, and papermaking were also important in the Middle Colonies. Big cities such as Philadelphia and New York were major shipping hubs, and craftsmen such as blacksmiths, silversmiths, cobblers, wheelwrights, wigmakers, milliners, and others contributed to the economies of such cities."

On one part of the New England Colonies there was just flat land and on another part was hills and mountains. They have very good soil so it was hard to grow crops unlike the Middle Colonies soil. One thing about good that came out of the really cold winters is that  it made it harder for people to get deadly diseases. "Colonists in the New England colonies endured bitterly cold winters and mild summers. Land was flat close to the coastline but became hilly and mountainous farther inland. Soil was generally rocky, making farming difficult. Cold winters reduced the spread of disease."
