My world is less brighter without Doc Arlene. I will always fondly remember the sound of her contagious laughter, her energy and optimism, her sincere desire to help others without regard to her own discomfort or welfare. She was truly beautiful and one of a kind!

Dra Arlene Lim is a great friend not only to my parents, RI District 3810 PDG Ed Tumangan and CP Tessie Tumangan, our Rotary Club of Manila 101, but to myself and my husband, Glen Villaroman. I fondly call Dra Arlene, BFF. This is so because through all the highs and lows of our lives, we could count on Dra Arlene's friendship and support. She is personally supportive of my parents health and wellbeing. Just in Mar 17, Dra arranged for my husband and my covid19 swab test and she personally reaches out to make sure that we are safe.

It was alarming when we learned that Eddie and Arlene both contracted Covid19. More alarming and with great sadness when just a few days, we learned that we have lost BFF Arlene to Covid. We cant stop our tears from hearing this overwhelming news. We also pray for the safety of Eddie and their son. We have lost a HUGE soul but gained a STRONG warrior in heaven, for we know God has a perfect plan for BFF Arlene.

Till we meet again dearest BFF. You will be greatly missed. May your soul rest in peace. Amen. 🙏

A week or so ago, I was still communicating with Doc Arlene by Messenger. She was begging me for help so that she and Eddie could be transferred to a better hospital than the provincial hospital they were in, which was inadequately equipped to handle their Covid once it attacks their lungs. She wanted to live, she said.

I asked my friends some of whom were her classmates in medical school, and fortunately, her daughter who was also a doctor, was able to arrange for their transfer to a Metro Manila hospital.

Except for one message telling me where they had been transferred to, her messages stopped until I received the news that she had passed on.

When I checked with the doctors in the hospital where they had been transferred to, I learned that the hospital ran out of Remdesivir and she had to be intubated. But it was too late.

Doc Arlene was like the personal doctor of my family. She would personally come up to our condominium units and do our blood extraction to each one of us. My whole family knew her, and they all feel the loss. Eddie was my Majestic President. So they were both close to our hearts.

All we can do now is hope that Eddie survives this crisis and pray for the repose of the eternal soul of Dr. Arlene.

My Dearest Doc Arlene,
I am very grateful that I found a friend who is very passionate about her mission in life. You taught me lot especially on how to become a better person and be optimistic despite any crisis. You never hesitate to share your positive energies and to help people regardless of race and religion. You are a superwoman. A SuperDoc.

Now, I understand the reason behind the tone of your voice when you called me last March 18... it was when you asked me to call Enzo to help him on something... and you told me, "Anak, ikaw na ang bahala sa kapatid mo ha... Ayaw gyud na biya-i (wag mo talagang pabayaan)... ikaw na bahala..."

Honestly, at that time I really got goosebumps. I didn't mind it maybe because the 2nd death anniversary of my mom was approaching.

Doc... you don't need to hit big now as you always tell me... because you already did... you already helped a lot of people... and it is about time to focus on yourself and be with God....

Dra Lim has always been the life of the pedia department of St Martin de Porres Hospital. She would always smile and laugh and it is contagious. Dra ready na ang bagoong alamang mo 3 weeks na to 😢 she always request me to cook bagoong alamang na comfort food nya daw and I send her every Saturday. Mind you pag hindi ako nag luto alam nya 😅
I Remember I was a new BNI member as in 1st time mag meeting in celebrity and inaatake allergic rhinitis and asthma I was coughing non stop lumapit ka agad sa akin after the meeting dala ang stethoscope and prescription pad... Hala wala Sabi Sabi shoot sa blouse ko ang stet at sabay sabi inhale 😂 you sat beside me and doodled in your pad at sabay sabi o take this tapos samahan kita sa allergologist. I felt at home instantly with that gesture and it was the start of a special bond with her. Countless times para sya super woman to the rescue to attend to our health issues. I can't forget the time we badly need to be tested for COVID and call her at 1:30pm I told her Dra my dad in law won't let anyone go home without being tested NOW!! and there are 38 of us here, sabi nya I'm in the middle of group testing also teka ha.. Lo and behold after an hour and half tumawag ang Lola mo andito na kami sa NLEX mag ready na kayo.. Talagang from Cubao to Bulacan real quick.She also went here to check on me personally when I was operated and when I got sick. And last time we talk sinabihan mo ko na ubos na bagoong mo hindi pa Saturday sabi ko magluluto na ko sabay sabi friend I asked some friends to help you with your business babangon tayo punta tayo sa US sa November - I cried, was so touched. I can go on and on Dra di maubos good deeds mo and reminiscing my wonderful memories of you. I shall keep this all in my heart. I LOVE YOU & I WILL MISS YOU MY SUPER DOCTORA 💔 Thank you for your friendship and everything you have done for me and my family. Rest Easy ( di ka na curacha there) in the Hands of Our Almighty! It has been difficult to think about you the past several days without tears falling. It has been painful to be in the breakout room after the meeting proper without hearing your pangungulit. You are the Queen of the Breakout Room, after all! It's really hard to keep a straight face with you cracking jokes and teasing us. Your bright and cheerful energy was our ray of sunshine every week. I wish I could hug you tight Dra Patricia together with your brothers. My heartfelt Condolences. I myself is grieving so much for losing your Mom. I hope to meet you at the right time and I'll share wonderful stories of how we became close. As you can see from her phone, her last message to me was I LOVE YOU SISTER before she died.
