Energy cycle is the same as energy diagram.

When the question asks to draw an energy cycle, you can either draw a conventional cycle OR the energy level diagram.

The energy level diagram will definitely take more time as compared to the conventional cycle as you will need to make sure that the lengths of the arrows are proportionate to the magnitudes of the enthalpy changes. Also, whether the arrows point upwards or downwards.
