We launch further into Ch. 12 this week, focusing on customary measurement and line plot graphs. Work in class will focus on lessons 12.7- End of unit. Students will begin the practice test on Friday and complete it on the following week. Monday they will take home that night to study.

Please remember, Chapter 12 notes are under the "Homework Printables" section. In the same section, there are very helpful videos and tools to support you and your child if a concept needs a little more review.

This week we finish working on the CA Mission System in-class project, and will be moving forward to learning about the end of the mission system and ranchos as California becomes a part of the union.

Science:

Reading: This week we will be starting a new Novel study called Riding Freedom. This is a well-researched, fast-paced novel recounting the life of Charlotte "Charley" Parkhurst, a daring woman who became a stagecoach driver in the Wild West, as well as the first woman to vote in California, disguised as a man.

Writing: We will be studying and practicing opinion writing. This will connect to our future social studies project coming soon.
