Introducing the Sustainable Development Goals.

This week was all about introducing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) to our youngest learners. We did this using a slideshow in which they learned about the 17 goals, United Nations and how our happy Earth is becoming sad due to the harm that is being done to it, and how we should help in order to have a sustainable world for our future. Next, we went to check out our SDG board outside and then carried out activities related to it.

We introduced the goal-Life below water through this interesting google slide. They learnt what life below water means and about the various sea creatures living under the ocean. They were amazed to see how beautiful the ocean is.

We watched and learned about selected sea creatures such as jellyfish, turtles, octopuses, etc. We also watched some videos to help them understand them better.

Our little learners engaged in a colourful craft session where they had to craft their own sea creatures using art techniques such as; marble painting, collage, thumb print and folk print. They thoroughly enjoyed the craft activities that were carried out.

We introduced the different types of trash materials such as: glass, plastic, metal, food waste and paper. Thereafter, we indulged in an activity of identifying the different trash items and placing them into the relevant trash bin.

Our little children adorned themselves in sea creature costumes and spread awareness as to how they are struggling due to the pollution in the ocean. Let's work together to keep these creatures happy and safe!
