"And even if I die in the act, that death will be a glory, I will lie with the one I loved and loved by him an outrage sacred to the gods..." (Antigone 86-87)
- Remains loyal to her family even after all the tragedy and is willing even go against the city to make sure her brothers are honorably buried in the eye of the gods.

"Your wrong from the start, you're off on a hopeless quest." (Ismene 107-108)
- Adds to the character of Ismene as she refuses to support her own sister out of fear.

"No, he must be left unburied, his corpse carrion for the birds and dogs to tear, an obscenity for the citizens to behold!" (Creon 229-231)
- Relgion was very prevalent to these people and leaving Polyneices unburied would in theory prevent him from reaching the afterlife. "The ultimate disgrace."

"You, you're senile, must you be insane, You say--- why it's intolerable --- say the gods have the slightest concern for that corpse." (Creon 318-320)
- Adds to Creon's character as he is very temperamental and will not stand for anyone disagreeing with him.

"I did it. I don't deny a thing." (Antigone 492)
- Is not ashamed for laying Polyneices to rest even though the rest of the city doesn't agree with her.
