         <description><![CDATA[<p>When a moving car crashes and stops, the passenger/s continue to move on forward because of inertia. An object in motion stays in motion unless acted upon by an external unbalanced force (a simplified rendition of Newton's first law). Without the Crumple Zones, there's nothing to absorb the impact. They can hit the interior of the car, and that could cause serious injuries.</p>]]></description>

It is meant to absorb more energy, and reduce the acceleration that the passenger experiences. This lowers the force of the passenger against the car (F = ma), and reduces the risk of passenger injury.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Parts of a car, more specifically the front and back, are made to crumple during a crash in order to protect the passenger and reduce injuries. As stated in my answer to the previous question, it is meant to absorb more energy, and reduce the acceleration the passenger experiences (F = ma). Essentially, it keeps the passengers safe at it's own expense.</p>]]></description>
