They also believe that Jesus Christ was God's son. Jehova's Witnesses follow the Bible. Practitioners are opposed to divorce, homosexuality, premarital sex, abortion, and evolution. They believe there is an actual government in heaven, where Jesus is king and there are 144,000 people selected by God to serve in the government. About 8500 of these are believed to still be living on Earth, but that number changes as members die. They believe that Christ's second coming already happened, in 1914, when Jesus ascended as king and Satan was expelled to Earth.  They do not believe in eternal life, but that they are resurrected in a new body, unless they are deemed unfit for redemption by God.
