I am lucky. I found mine early. As senior year closes and I look to my future, I see myself in the same places I’ve always been: in the classroom and on the pool deck. For a different purpose. I want to be a Kindergarten teacher and a swim coach. 

Both are positions I hold close to my heart, seeing as growing up I’ve had some fantastic role models. Until high school, these positions that were once separate aspects of my life merged together; and I figured out the path I wanted to take.

Miss Kiraly is both my child development teacher and my swim coach. Both of which are career goals I hope to become once I graduate college. Outside of the classroom and off the pool deck, Miss Kiraly has been actively pursuing her passion for traveling. During her college years, she spent summers traveling to places in Europe as well as Hawaii and Asia serving as a camp counselor/director for summer camps, which provide camp services to children of military families.

This is of course, relationships. It fascinates me. Despite needing to be in 10 different places, doing 10 different tasks all at the same time, she still makes time and effort to chat with me and check in on how I’m doing and how my life is going. Kiraly's teaching style and emphasis on impacting the “whole student” is what makes her such an outstanding teacher. 

Although I plan on going into elementary education rather than high school, I do hope I will be able to incorporate some of her techniques into my own classroom.

She soon realized her goal was a lofty one and it may just be impossible, so she revised it. Her new goal was to change her students lives so that together, we can all work and change the world. Having Miss Kiraly as a teacher has greatly changed my life; that's why I interviewed her for my curiosity conversation.
