Canva is an excellent tool for creating professional and engaging material. It is extremely broad and can be used for everything from slideshows to posters or infographics. It has a premium version available but the open source model is still very useful for students and teachers.

Having access to your docs is vital if you are working across multiple devices, for teachers this allows you to access what you want when you want, without worrying about sending or transferring files.

For students - L=leaving their laptop at home no longer halts progress and they still have access to all their work.

This tool was a little more difficult to learn, and may not be suitable for every class, but can be used to create and annotate maps. Brilliant in showing scale and impact by placing markers of cities, battles, or events.

This attached is an example of a timeline created in Canva for my mini unit. It will form the digital part of the assessment for the unit and allows students to engage in different forms of media to display their understanding. There are also levels of differentiation that can be layered on top, including using voice to text dictation to enable students who have difficulties writing or typing. It also offers extension opportunities by enabling many forms of media to be embedded into the format.

This is only a basic example of the possibilities available using this digital tool.

The more I have explored and gotten to know Padlet, the more I wished I had done my first attempt differently, so, very late into the assessment, I have rebuilt my Padlet from the ground up and included some of the features that my original was missing.

This has enabled me to be more organised and make better use of some of the incredible tools on offer in this application.

My original Padlet is linked above, but almost all pertinent information has been brought across to the new and improved version here.

Virtual Museum Tour

This is an example of a virtual museum tour, there are many other similar exhibits out there, this particular example uses a user interface similar to google maps to "walk" through a museum and students can move, look, zoom, and interact with the museum in their own time from the comfort of the classroom.
