– Walk around school to identify and add to lists, items that use energy.

• Return to the classroom and discuss the list of appliances.

– List all the items that you have identified and group them according to the energy form they use.

– What is the most common energy form used in our school?

– Copy the table above into your Science Journal. Think about how many times you used electrical appliances yesterday,

(battery powered or plugged into the wall) and put this information into the table.

With a partner complete this activity in your Science Journal

1. Make a list of as many unsafe situations as you can.

2. Watch the electricity safety video aboe and make a list of the safety rules shared here.

3. Watch safety electricity video 2 ( below) and add some more safety rules to your document.

4. Complete the electricity safety quiz below. Write each question out and then put your answer after it.

In your Science Journal create a heading How do batteries work? and write down 10 facts that you have learnt about batteries and how they work.

Give one taken one- Quietly move around the room and give one of your facts to a student and take one of their facts to add to your document. Do this with as many students as you can in 5 minutes.

On the second page of your science journal you should have your reflection from the science incursion.
