Week 2 : Hadith Jibril & Adab In Seekibg Knowledge

📖 1. Understanding the Hadith of Jibril

The Hadith of Jibril explains the three main foundations of Islam: Islam, Iman, and Ihsan.

Islam means practicing the five pillars — declaring the shahadah, performing prayers, giving zakah, fasting in Ramadan, and performing Hajj for those who are able.

Iman (Faith) is believing in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, the Last Day, and divine decree (Qadar), both good and bad.

Ihsan (Excellence) means worshipping Allah as if you see Him, and if you cannot see Him, know that He always sees you.

This hadith shows how Angel Jibril came in the form of a man to teach the companions the essence of their religion through his respectful dialogue with Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

🤝 2. The Importance of the Pillars of Islam

Strengthens the relationship between humans and Allah through sincere worship.

Builds strong bonds among people through acts of charity, kindness, and unity in worship.

Purifies the soul and keeps a person away from major sins.

Helps us become true servants of Allah, living in obedience and humility before Him.

📚 3. Adab in Seeking Knowledge through the Hadith of Jibril

Angel Jibril demonstrated excellent manners in learning — he sat respectfully in front of the Prophet, listened carefully, and asked questions politely.

Students should follow this example by respecting teachers, asking questions humbly, and being sincere in learning.

Islam encourages us not to feel shy to ask about things we do not know and not to be arrogant to admit ignorance by saying “Allahu A‘lam” (Allah knows best).

Always refer to scholars and knowledgeable individuals when learning about religion to ensure our understanding remains correct and authentic.

🌟 4. Core Values and Lessons

Seeking knowledge is not just about academic success but about self-improvement and drawing closer to Allah.

Adab (good manners) is the key to gaining the blessings and wisdom of knowledge.

The Hadith of Jibril forms the foundation of understanding Islam — combining belief (Iman), practice (Islam), and sincerity (Ihsan).

🕊️ Conclusion:

The Hadith of Jibril not only teaches the pillars of Islam and faith but also demonstrates the true manners of a learner. Through Jibril’s example, we learn that blessed knowledge comes from a sincere heart, humble manners, and the desire to know Allah. Every Muslim student should seek knowledge with adab, humility, and a sense of responsibility to practice what they learn — becoming true servants of Allah in this world and the Hereafter.

Week 1 : Adab in Seeking Knowledge & Al-Quran as the Book of Guidance

📘 1. Adab in Seeking Knowledge

Adab (proper manners) is the foundation of gaining knowledge — it determines the blessings and value of what we learn.

Students should show respect towards teachers, peers, and knowledge itself, because knowledge without manners can lead to arrogance and moral decay.

The true purpose of learning is not merely to seek a career or fame, but to become a knowledgeable, ethical, and faithful servant of Allah.

Learning with adab helps shape a balanced individual — one who is intelligent in mind, disciplined in action, and pure in heart.

📖 2. The Qur’an as a Book of Guidance

The Qur’an is not only a holy scripture to be recited, but a complete guide for human life.

It teaches about the signs of Allah’s greatness, the proofs of His Oneness, and stories of the Prophets and the Seerah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as examples for mankind.

To understand the Qur’an deeply, one should refer to authentic translations and tafsir, and compare the views of both international and local scholars.

Technology can also be used wisely through credible Islamic apps and social media platforms to explore the Qur’an in an engaging and meaningful way.

🌙 3. Core Values and Lessons

Adab and knowledge are inseparable — knowledge without adab brings no benefit.

The Qur’an acts as a compass that guides humans to recognize their role and responsibilities as servants of Allah.

By learning with good manners and following Qur’anic guidance, one can achieve true success — in both this world and the Hereafter.

🕊️ Conclusion:

Seeking knowledge with adab and using the Qur’an as a guide in life will nurture individuals who are knowledgeable, faithful, and morally upright. This is the true purpose of education in Islam — to form human beings who know their Creator and fulfill their duties as His servants on earth.

Week 3 : Pillars of Iman – Belief in Allah, Angels, and Holy Books

📘 1. Belief in Allah (Tawheed – The Oneness of God)

The first and most fundamental pillar of faith in Islam is believing that Allah is One, the Creator and Sustainer of everything that exists.

The Qur’an repeatedly emphasizes Allah’s oneness, mercy, and power over all creation.

Surah Al-Ikhlas beautifully summarizes this belief: “He is Allah, the One and Only; Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, and there is none equal to Him.”

To strengthen this belief, Muslims should:

Perform the five daily prayers sincerely.

Reflect upon the Qur’an and the signs of Allah in the natural world.

Rely completely on Allah in all circumstances, acknowledging that no being shares His divine attributes.

👼 2. Belief in the Malaikah (Angels)

Muslims must believe in the existence of angels — spiritual beings created from light who carry out Allah’s commands without error.

Angels have various roles: delivering revelations (Jibril), recording deeds (Kiraman Katibin), protecting believers, and praising Allah continuously.

Belief in angels reminds Muslims that their deeds are always being watched and recorded, encouraging righteousness and sincerity.

This faith nurtures a sense of responsibility and self-awareness in every action, both seen and unseen.

📖 3. Belief in the Kutub (Revealed Books)

Muslims affirm belief in all the holy scriptures revealed by Allah — the Tawrat, Zabur, Injil, and finally the Qur’an, which is the final and complete revelation.

The Qur’an serves as the ultimate source of guidance, addressing every aspect of human life — faith, morality, justice, and wisdom.

Its miraculous nature lies in its unmatched eloquence, preserved consistency, fulfilled prophecies, and scientific accuracy, proving its divine origin.

Muslims are encouraged to:

Study and understand the teachings of the Qur’an.

Apply its lessons in daily life through acts of worship, kindness, and good conduct.

Share its stories and values with others, spreading knowledge and guidance.

Seek guidance from scholars when facing challenges in understanding its messages.

🌟 4. Practical Implementation of Faith

Strengthen belief through reflection, prayer, and consistent learning.

Integrate Islamic values into everyday actions — honesty, compassion, and humility.

Remember that faith (Iman) is not static; it grows through obedience, sincerity, and reflection on Allah’s signs.

🕊️ Conclusion:

Belief in Allah, His Angels, and His Books forms the core of a Muslim’s faith and identity. These beliefs guide Muslims to live with awareness, gratitude, and purpose. The Qur’an, being the final revelation, provides timeless guidance that nurtures the soul, refines character, and connects believers to their Creator.

Week 4 : Belief in Qada' and Qadar (Pre-Destination), Belief in Rasul and Anbiya' (Messengers and Prophets), and Belief in the Hereafter (Qiyamah)

📜 Belief in Qada' and Qadar (Divine Pre-destination)

Belief in Qada' and Qadar is one of the essential articles of faith in Islam; without this pillar, a person is not considered a believer. This belief, which is implied by Allah's attribute of sustaining the universe, leads to contentment and satisfaction even when facing adversity.

Definitions

• Al-Qadar literally means "knew, predetermined, and planned perfectly". It relates to things before they happen. Technically, it refers to Allah's complete Knowledge written in the Safe Tablet, His Will existing before all things, and His creation of all things by His Command and Will.

• Al-Qada' comes from the word meaning "judged, ordained, executed perfectly". It refers to things after they happen. Al-Qadar precedes Al-Qada', but they are often pronounced together as 'al Qada' wal-Qadar'.

The Four Components of Qada' and Qadar ✍️

According to the Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama'ah, Allah's decree has four key components:

1. Knowledge: A firm belief that Allah has complete knowledge of everything, including all minute and general details of all happenings—whether by His own doing or His creatures. Allah knows what happened, what is happening now, what will happen, and even what would have happened if something else occurred. Not a leaf falls or a grain exists in the darkness of the earth without His knowledge.

2. Writing: The belief that Allah has recorded all His knowledge about the fate of His creatures in the Preserved Tablet (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz).

3. Will: The belief that Allah wills the presence or absence of everything in the heavens and the earth, and nothing can exist without His Will. True faith requires believing that Allah's Will is total and all-embracing.

4. Creation: Belief that Allah is the Creator of everything and anything, including things like death and life, the skies, mountains, winds, and all living organisms. He created death and life to test which of us is best in deed.

Benefits of Belief in Qada' and Qadar ⭐

Belief in pre-destination brings several profound benefits to a Muslim's life:

• Peace of mind.

• It shifts a person's main concern to their present actions, rather than the past or future.

• It instills willpower and determination to move forward in the way of Allah.

• It encourages modesty, humility, and contentment.

• It leads to total dependence upon Allah—a person takes precautions, does their best, and then relies on Him.

• It helps eliminate bad manners like envy and jealousy, and establish good manners.

🕊️ Belief in Rasul and Anbiya' (The Messengers and Prophets)

Belief in Allah's Messengers is a fundamental principle, emphasizing that they were sent to every nation with essentially the same religion: Islam.

Definition and Core Message

Belief in the Messengers entails a firm belief that:

• Allah sent a messenger to every nation to call them to worship Allah alone without partners (Tawhidullah).

• All messengers were truthful, virtuous, trustworthy, and rightly-guided servants who conveyed Allah's message fully, without concealing, omitting, or adding anything.

• The laws of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), who was sent as the final prophet to all mankind, must be followed.

• All prophets carried the core message of al-Tawhid—that all worship should be devoted to Allah Alone, and anything worshipped instead of Him must be rejected.

Obedience to a prophet in religious matters is considered obedience to Allah (SWT), and conversely, disobedience to him is disobedience to Allah. Whoever disbelieves in the message of one prophet is considered to have disbelieved in all of them, as they are "paternal brothers" with one religion.

Necessities of the Messengers 🧭

Prophets were necessary to convey Allah's instructions and guidance because, without this knowledge, humanity couldn't answer the fundamental questions of existence. They served to:

• Guide humanity from the worship of created beings to the worship of Allah as their Creator.

• Clarify the purpose of creation (worshipping God) and that this life is a test to determine one's life after death.

• Show the right path leading to Paradise and salvation from Hellfire.

• Establish proof against humanity so people could not claim ignorance on the Day of Judgment.

• Uncover the unseen world (e.g., knowledge of God, angels, Day of Judgment).

• Provide practical examples for moral, righteous, and purpose-driven lives, as humans innately admire and imitate fellow human beings.

Emulating the Prophetic Lifestyle 👣

A true Muslim adheres to the teachings and lifestyle of the noble prophet. Examples of Prophet Muhammad's virtuous character for us to follow include:

• Gratitude: Thanking Allah for favors and showing appreciation to people.

• Tolerance: Being easy on people and not making things difficult, as shown by his handling of the Bedouin in the mosque.

• Repentance: Constantly seeking forgiveness from Allah, even though prophets are free from sin.

• Simplicity/Ease: Advising to "Make things easy for people and do not make things difficult."

• Equality: Establishing a religion based on racial equality, where the most pious is the most deserving of honor.

• Moderation: Practicing moderation in all aspects of life, as "Religion is easy."

• Patience: Viewing it as the best and most abundant gift.

• Humility: Rejecting arrogance, which is defined as "rejecting the truth and looking down on people."

• Kindness: Accustoming oneself to do good even if others do evil.

⚖️ Belief in the Hereafter (Al-Qiyamah)

Belief in life after death is the fifth article of Islamic Faith; a person is not a believer without it. The Quran frequently links the fundamentals of belief as "belief in Allah and in the hereafter".

The Meaning of Belief in the Hereafter 🌎

Believing in life after death involves accepting that:

1. The life of this world will come to an end on an appointed day (Al-Qiyamah, the Last Day).

2. All people who have ever lived will be brought back to life (Al-Hashr) and presented before God for judgment.

3. The entire record of their deeds and transgressions will be presented for final judgment.

4. Those who are successful will be rewarded with Paradise (Jannah), the doors of eternal bliss.

5. Those who are condemned will be sent to Hell (Jahannam), the abode of fire and torture.

Significance and Effects on a Muslim's Life 💖

Belief in the Last Day has a profound effect on a Muslim's faith and actions:

• It demonstrates the completeness, greatness, and uniqueness of Allah's Names and Attributes.

• It increases the love for meeting Allah in the hearts of believers. The greatest joy in Paradise will be the joy of seeing Allah, which will make them forget all other blessings.

• It establishes fear from Allah, knowing that on that Day, nothing concerning them will be concealed.

• It supports a Muslim in hastening towards good deeds. Knowing they will meet the consequence of their exertion motivates believers to perform acts like feeding the needy.

• It aids in patience during times of hardship. This belief helps to renew hope, relieve pain, and cope with difficulties, allowing a person to show patience and overcome misfortunes with enthusiasm.

Ihsan means to worship Allah as though you can see Him, and if you cannot, then to be certain that He sees you. It represents the highest level of religion, standing above Islam (practices) and Iman (beliefs), as described in the Hadith of Jibril. The word ihsan comes from hasana, which means to beautify or to do good. Ihsan goes beyond mere justice (‘adl), because it is not just about fulfilling the minimum requirements, but doing more with sincerity, kindness, and excellence.

Islamic Eschatology (Belief in the Afterlife)
Belief in the Last Day is one of the core pillars of Iman. It includes the stages of death, resurrection, judgment, and the final destination—Paradise or Hell. This belief is necessary because the life of this world does not always provide complete justice. Sometimes the righteous are not rewarded, and wrongdoers escape punishment. The afterlife guarantees accountability and ensures that ultimate justice will be served.

Conclusion
Islam is a complete way of life. Ihsan adds beauty and depth to worship and social conduct, fostering morality, peace, and harmony. When combined with belief in the Hereafter, it inspires Muslims to strive sincerely for Allah’s pleasure and to seek true success in the eternal life of Paradise.

A good intention turns an ordinary action into a rewarded act, while a wrong intention can remove its value. Niat helps guide a person to act sincerely, responsibly, and with the right purpose, even if the result is small.

Hikmah (Wisdom)

Hikmah means wisdom or the deeper benefit behind something.

Rukun Islam are the five pillars of Islam, which are the foundation of a Muslim’s faith and practice. They guide how a Muslim lives and worships.

1. Shahadah (Faith) – Declaring that “There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is His messenger.” This is the core belief in Islam.

2. Salah (Prayer) – Performing the five daily prayers to connect with Allah and remember Him.

3.

In the sixth Usrah session, this week focuses on zakah and şadaqah as acts of worship that balance spiritual growth with social responsibility. My Naqib explains that giving nurtures tawakkul by training the heart to rely on Allah rather than material wealth. He emphasises ukhuwwah, showing how charity strengthens bonds within the ummah and reduces social inequality. The concept of tazkiyyah is explored as both purification of wealth and cleansing of the soul from greed, arrogance, and attachment to worldly possessions. Participants reflect on generosity as a lifestyle, recognising that giving time, effort, and resources are all forms of şadaqah that bring barakah to individuals and communities .

In the seventh usrah meeting, we discussed hajj and 'umrah as peak spiritual journeys that embody total submission to Allah.

We highlights al-tadhiyyah (sacrifice) as pilgrims give up comfort, status, and routine in obedience to divine command. Taqwã is emphasised as the ultimate goal of hajj, cultivated through patience, self-restraint, and constant remembrance of Allah during the rites. Through practical planning and a hajj simulation, participants gain hands-on understanding of rituals such as ihrăm, tawaf, sa i, wuqüf, stoning, mabit, and tahallul, along with their spiritual meanings. The session concludes by reminding participants that the true measure of an accepted hajj is lasting transformation in character, humility, and devotion long after the journey ends .
