Children on the autism spectrum affect their holistic development. The most seriously affected children have profound learning disabilities and delayed language. Having these needs the children will require intensive support and care. One to one support with their intellect. For example help with their reading and work. There are difficulties with social interactions for example they come across as diverse to people and have a hard time sharing. Another need is their physical development can be delayed. For example the rate of their gross and fine motor skills develop slower so they might start crawling and walking at a later age then expected.

If a child are not sleeping well the consequences may be problems with behaviour , attention, learning, and memory. It will therefore take them longer to learn and develop in comparison to a child who is getting a sufficient amount of sleep. If children do not get enough sleep they will feel tired and they will not have enough energy to play through the day or interact with others and this can slow their growth. Lack of sleep and obesity are contributing factor. They may not grow like the way they should grow on their average age which can lead them to health problem and lack of memory . It can also affect their balance diet. Children can get very hyper from overtiredness and become unable to concentrate on a task. They will also loose interest of taking part in different activity with other children. Lack of sleep could also affect their speech( moody , grumpy ) and they will find it difficult to remember things. As they grow the child will loss confidence on themselves. Newborn should have 16hrs 30mins sleep in average total which include (3naps). 3 to 6 months children need 14hrs to 16 hrs sleep in average total. 9 to 12 months children need 13hrs 30 mins in total. 2 years children sleep 11hrs to 14 hrs.
3 years children sleep 10 hrs to 13 hours sleep.
