Picture is a little small but I took this the first day. To emphasize the Bass Camp this was the main stage, where the best performances went down. This is where artists dream to be sharing their music to the people at. "Bass camp" at the top of the venue shows how massive the stage was. Festival culture everyone is your friend which is amazing. I remember at Bass Camp when I lost all my friends in the concert but I was far from worried. Everyone around me was smiling and dancing along. Truly amazing how the music takes away your worries. Do not remember who was performing during this time my memory was a bit hazy from the drive. Did I mention this is in Canada?

I took this photo on the first day of the festival. Got a bit rainy but that has never stopped anyone here. Music was incredible but was still waiting for some artists I was most excited for. Looking at this photo you can see so many different people all having a great time together showing how the culture is based on enjoying the environment and listening to all different kinds of music live with no worries, just happiness. People had more freedom.

This is where everyone stayed, or in their car. Took this picture around mid day when I went back to the campsite to eat and get some water. This is the only place I've seen that many tents and people camped in close quarters without a single complaint. It was interesting to see people on day 1 coming in an calling each other neighbors and strangers acting like best friends willing to share anything! Not a lot of people were when this was taken, most of them were at the performances going on but I really needed some water and food so I skipped out on a few. I remember getting to the tent and deciding between the last piece of ham with dirt on it or an old hot dog.

The naked guy. I actually did not take this picture as my phone was dead but I remember seeing this from a distance. This dude decided to let it ride, which is socially acceptable here. A culture like no other, inspired only by having the time of your life. You can also see the guy in the bottom of the picture he was wearing jean shorts, no shirt, no shoes, and a red feather scarf. Saw him a couple times. This picture accurately shows the culture and what kind of clothes people wear at Music Festivals.

Every campsite was destroyed and left a mess just like this one. People were hired and paid after the festival to be there cleaning and picking it all up. Its kind of sad how much trash people feel okay with leaving behind here. Then again, I remember leaving some trash behind now. An example of the effects of Festival culture. Everyone seemed to be in the mindset that this place you were "free from everything" which I guess includes throwing your things away.

Snoop dogg was the greatest time I had at the whole concert. The music and the connection with the artist over all is what drives the culture. I had never seen Snoop live until than and I will never forget it. He was extremely funny and his performance was incredible. By attending festivals people feel connected with the artist, and my personal experience I remember him starting Young Wild & Free and immediately I remembered about a specific moment After that, every song made everyone even more energized. The environment was constant excitement and I also met a couple who had been since 2006, making 2016 their 10th year. It was interesting hearing how magical they described this environment.

This was originally taken on snap chat during J. Cole's performance. You can see the confetti falling and everyone's hands in the air. Before this I hadn't experienced live music like this ever. The interesting part was that it was the people who made the music better. The energy of the massive crowd jumping and singing along and everyone having the time of their life was crazy to witness. J. Cole had one of the best performance's there. This was when I really got an idea of why people are attracted to the festival lifestyle.

I had no clue who this guy was, and maybe he just didn't stand out to me or something but I can't remember anything he sang. But that's part of the whole experience, the new experience. Over this weekend I was able to hear a lot of new music and artists and even artists that weren't very popular but had huge potential. Amazing being able to witness some artists biggest moment in their music career and to share that moment with them. Something that will drive me to return next year!

This was between performances, and I remember talking to a lot of strangers about how this was my first ever festival. Each person I talked to was totally different than the other and mostly went on long rants about how I HAVE to go to these other festivals. This environment could be seen as a bit overwhelming for some due to the hundreds of thousands of people running around, but I felt very safe as a first timer. One person I remember talking to while I took this picture was Doug, because he told me everything he had on his mind. A complete stranger who was a little crazy and clearly on drugs but he was just talking about the whole festival and how magical it is. After a short conversation he didn't even hesitate to invite me to party with his friends later that night at his tent. That's the best part too is there always something else to look forward too. Performances, crazy sets, new friends, and life changing music. It's difficult for people who have not attended to understand the culture as many have this sterotype that it's a place to do drugs and party. Which it can be, but doesn't have to be.

Someone I was with was ecstatic to see him so all my friends and I pushed through the massive crowd. I couldn't even see as we were moving until we got to the front. He ended up having some amazing music I'd never heard before. I distinctively remember looking around and not one single person wasn't smiling/dancing along. Where else in the world can you go where every single person is smiling because of one moment, and you were able share it with them. I Can't remember which day this was on but I remember this moment thinking about how I with I could spend more time together with these strangers.

This was when Pearl Jam was performing. This picture barely explains how many people were here. All ages attended. I saw parents with their children. Also, I remember often times people watching and seeing some awesome outfits which was the great part about Festivals and the culture is that the dress code is up to you and no one will judge you based on how you look unlike anywhere else. It's a unique and special part of our society and all around the world. Pretty much all the rules are up to you! I saw people in all kinds of clothes which this picture doesn't accurately show the crowds clothes but I got one that does.

Seeing this picture I took of the mountains in the back and our ugly yellow tent with the hashtag "PembyFest" made me realize something that I hand't thought about when taking it. With a plethora of social media that kids at young ages have access to it's much easier for them to hear about and feel the need to experience. I remember asking to go to single venue concerts and my parents shunning them for being an environment unsafe for me. I didn't fully understand until I got old enough to make my own decision but they were somewhat right. The culture of Music Festivals is so unique and there's so much going on that safety can be an issue especially for younger kids, but parents should support the experience of the culture by wanting to help them. A good idea would be going together to small festivals and building trust together.

The people are what truly made this time incredible. Not even just the friends I showed up with but the memories I have with complete strangers. Literally everyone was nice and just wanted to share the experience with everyone. This picture is of me and a friend of mine, but the whole time random people were taking photos for us and we took pictures for them. It seemed like everyone has some sort of instant trust with fellow festival goers. Something that comes along with the culture. I was told I'd get a better understanding the more I attend. The youth attraction with media and videos of these Festivals is on the rise and there are no rules on ages attending. This is the one time I disagreed with being here. I believe it should be 18+ or a parental guardian attending with underage youth due to the lack of care when it came to drug and alcohol use. The environment allowed pretty much anyone at any age who wanted a substance to be able to get their hands on it.

Side note: I got that tattoo 2 days before attending and needed anti-peeling gel and ended up meeting someone who had some and we talked at the campsite for hours about tattoos and there meaning. Much love to that guy whoever you are, you gave me a memory I'll never forget and you probably don't even realize. Just another beautiful aspect of this culture.
