I aimed my magazine at aged 16-28 year old people who are passionate about drum and bass music, from all locations and all races. They will be interested in the goings on of their favourite artists and want to know what inspired them and what they have planned for the future. They will want to know where they will be playing and when and they will want to know how they began making music plus what inspires them.

I use a graffiti looking font for my title as I want to appeal to a younger audience of which I believe will be interested in graffiti. I use interesting colours but not too many of them as I do not wish to bombard my readers with bright colours. I use a young male for the picture on the front cover as it is easy to relate to for the audience I am aiming at as they will be of a similar age and the majority will likely be males. I use well known bands from the drum and bass scene as features included on the front cover so to draw in the readers and show that the magazine does include the well known artists from the scene. I also include the addresses of the magazines soundcloud, facebook and twitter pages as the younger audiences will be using these network sites and having these pages gives the appearance that the magazine knows about these sites and is involved.

My contents page attracts my target audience in a number of ways such as having somebody of my audiences age range playing music in what appears to be a club on stage, this is a scene the readers should be familiar with. The audience will be interested in finding out more about the artist in the picture and want to know more about them. There is information on the page about the artists new album which will interest them as the artist is a popular one within the scene of drum and bass, the readers will know this and will no doubt know some of the songs released as singles within the album. The colour scheme is characteristic of the genre drum and bass as it is primarily black with white, there is a small amount of colour other than these of which the audience should appreciate when following the drum and bass scene for some time. The titles of the features on the page should appeal to the audience as it is brief and tells you what it is straight away and the page to find it if the person does not care for other aspects of the magazine they can find their interest quickly.

My double page spread attracts my target audience in several ways such as its colour scheme, light blue and white giving the idea of relaxed, chilled out music of which drum and bass can be. The idea of relaxation gives an increase in audience appeal as there are drum and bass enthusiasts that prefer the chilled aspects of drum and bass, this colour scheme displays this side of drum and bass. The looking into your eyes by the model also increases appeal as it creates a connection between the reader and the magazine making them want to continue reading the interview as you can see the person it is about directly. I spread the content of the interview out as to show style and the white background gives ease of reading as if it was not there the text would be difficult to read through. The large quote at the end of the interview attracts my audience by showing what the audience wants that the artist will be aiming higher and making more music in the future and has no plans to stop making music, it also allows you to see the conclusion of the interview quickly giving you an immediate interest in the rest of the article.
