The story line is that The Ring Of Power must be destroyed and a hobbit with his companions must go and destroy it. In the book it has forms of magic and also they use bows and arrows with swords and axes as well so somewhere around the 1000's.

“I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.”
This was a funny line which was both in the book and movie and happened at the same time just before Bilbo Baggins disappears from his party.
“Deserves it! I daresay he does. Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgement. For even the very wise cannot see all ends.”
This was a line said by Gandalf which was in response to Frodo thought that Gollum deserved to be killed when Bilbo first met him.
“May it be a light to you in dark places, when all other lights go out.”
This was another line that was mentioned both in the movie and book when The Lady Galadriel was giving Frodo the light which would never darken.
“Do not meddle in the affairs of wizards, for they are subtle and quick to anger.”
This was a line given to Frodo when he meant a group of elves inside the borders of the Shire.

My Opinion Of The Book

I thought this was a very impressively crafted story with many words that I did not know until now and even now more than a centaury latter I believe that all people should read it and at least give it a try. Although there were some slow parts in this book with long chapters it was still an interesting and exciting book with lots of different places that the fellowship travel to which many challenges to overcome. So, overall I would rate this as one of my favorite books that I have read throughout my life
