"The Japanese dropped a huge bomb after a plane flew past at the other end of my village and a lot of people died, Since then, we would never stay in our houses when we hear the sound of planes."

Teenagers were been tortured everyday, and the method of torturing was cruel.
 "Almost every day, I was taken for interrogation. One day the interrogators put some bars of wood on the floor and they tied me up, and I had to kneel on this very rough wood so that I couldn't  they applied electric shocks to me."

Teenagers life were tough as they have to show respect towards the Japanese Emperor.
"Everyone present bowed to the North-East in the direction of the Japanese Emperor in Tokyo." 

He life of teenagers were hard as they do not know when they might get killed randomly on the streets.
"For the first few days, the Japs went on a rampage." 

The life of teenagers were uneasy as their family members had been killed during the Japanese Occupation.
" Her father had died towards the end of the Japanese Occupation."

Teenagers life was tough as during Japanese occupation, teenagers were tortured by Japanese soldiers.
"Even children were  hit in the forehead by the Japanese."
