One of the best conversations I can have with a student is to take some time asking them about their life goals, such as career interests. Later, after the discussion/share, I look up the career and email the student supportive info, paraphrased, plus video and site links. I try to list pros and cons, annual salary, academic requirements - and the moral/ethical/humanitarian aspects.
