The Shavids were founded by the man above this text, Ismail, when he declared himself king of Persia in 1507. He followed Shia Islam, and enstated that as the religion of the area. Those who did not follow the religion were enslaved or "purified."

Constant wars

The Ottomans and the Shavids were constantly at war for two reasons: territory and religion.

Territory

The Ottomans settled in similar areas to the Shavids, however both wanted the territory all to themselves.

Religion

The Shavids were Shia Muslims, and the Ottomans were the exact opposite: Sunni. The history behind them is quite complicated, but basically, the Sunni wanted a worthy ruler to take the throne, and the shia wanted an heir to muhhammad to take the throne. Tensions rose and rose, and they're still mortal enemies in 2024.

Despite both these factors, they managed to come to terms eventually. That may not have lasted forever, but it lasted for at least the last few years the Shavids were in power.

The Shavids spoke the language of Urdu. This language is still spoken in Pakistan.

The Fall of the Shavids

Around 1703, the Shavids had begun to fall. For multiple reasons, really. But the main one was the Afghans. They pulled a raid on the Shavids from every side, and so the Shavid Empire was buried for good.
