What I knew about painting before taking this module
As an enthusiast for the arts, I am most familiar with identifying art movements and mediums used by certain artists. In example, my favorite is the Impressionism and Renaissance art movement. Some of my favorite painters are van Gogh, Pissaro, Manet, Monet, and Degas.

I also am familiar with the elements and principles in art as I spent a summer taking art classes. It is fascinating to realize how these elements and principles are used by the Masters.

What I learned in the module about the form of painting as a fine art

I had an in-depth learning about the principles and elements of painting. Such that I am now better able to recognize and interpret the use of principles of art. As we studied Rembrandt, and as follow the Baroque period, I realized that there are specific art styles in certain periods of time.

I also learned that the medium and materials used in a painting creates a difference in the artwork. Such that the intensity of brush strokes differentiates a conventional painting from a relief.

What else I'd like to learn about painting as a fine art

I would like to know more about the techniques the artists use in their works. Aside from art appreciation, I would like to learn how to create art myself.

I also want to learn about the different nuances in art appreciation when it comes to postmodern versus that of conventional art.
