My closest experience with Virtual / Augmented Reality would be on the ride "Soarin'" at Disneyland / Disney World!! That would be the best examples of when I have experienced it. It was a great experience, but if heights were involved it was not such a great time! Otherwise, I really do not have a lot of experience with virtual / AR. I think there are lots of great apps that are available to take learning to another level.

I learned a lot from this portion of the assignment as I hadn't heard of any of the Virtual / AR apps from the Top 5 Educational AR apps. I really like Quiver and thought it was awesome how you could use colored pictures and have them come to life. I like the idea of doing a coloring activity (for example: circulatory system) and using a picture of the heart or other body part for the particular system we are studying and having it come to life. The other app I liked from the list on edshelf was the Anatomy 4D. This app would bring a visual image to the body systems that we would study in health class. This would be a great resource to use for the middle school / high school level to get a better understanding of the human body. The possibilities are endless on how you can use Virtual / AR in the classroom; it is just finding the best ones for each particular lesson / subject.

I have not used Virtual/Augmented Reality much in the past. These programs mentioned would be fantastic for arts and science. I have put on the VR goggles in the past, and let's just say, it didn't go well for me. I don't love seeing something that isn't actually there, and really messes with my mind. I love these programs as they bring the world to life. My two littles would love these programs!

Three of the programs look awesome, but not really something I could see myself using. Jigspace would be great to bring history (social studies) to live a bit more. Figment would also be great to use. Those would be the two I could see using in the classroom to give a more hands on approach versus watching a video or looking at pictures from books. I really like it as a "virtual fieldtrip" to expand learning. Depending on the topic, it would be fun to maybe tour battlefields, ships, places people lived, jobs back then, etc. It would be endless the possibilities to bring a "boring" topic to life.

Haven't delved into much usage myself. These highlighted are cute. Not entirely conducive to Latin in and of itself. I will have to do some investigation into the 'jig'. By far that one piqued my interest further. I am not sure what they have as options, but perhaps they would be could compounds to supplant with Latin vocab. The last one in the video also might be a potential option in understanding cultural sights.

I enjoyed the virtual Liver exploration. There were alot of other science based learning tools to use. I think i could potential use some of the lab simulations if I were to ever teach anything outside of biology. I found some physics lab simulations that looked useful.

I have essentially zero experience with Augmented or Virtual Reality. Yet, I do understand the importance that it has right now in the classroom, but also the importance it will continue to have in the future. With technology just being such a big part of learning these days, the possibilities are endless. The more interactive you can make students the better they will learn in my opinion, and the days of person to person interaction are becoming less and less. So creating lessons with VR tools not only encourages the use of technology, but also live interaction between students in a way that is comfortable to them and fitting to the changing times in our education system.

I have never used VR/AR. I honestly did not know these kind of apps were out there. They are amazing apps in terms of how far technology has come. These apps could be used for all age groups. Younger kids could bring their drawings to life, like in the video, and older kids can look deeper into 3D images of a variety of different things. I think this could be a great resource to use in health or science classes. Students could take look at cells, body parts, molecules, and a lot of different things. It brings the lesson to life and makes it really engaging for students.

I have heard the term virtual reality but don't recall hearing / learning about augmented reality. To be honest, I thought they were interchangeable terms. So, as par for the course here, I had to start at the basics, this video helped me understand the difference between the two. Augmented reality vs. virtual reality: AR and VR made clear - YouTube
In this clip it also explained that the ar/vr technology is still so new that constant changes would happen, adapting to make them more user friendly. This was evident in skimming through the "EdShelf" page and discovering that a number of the links are no longer available.
That being said, once I understood the terminology and explored a few of the apps, I can definitely see the value in these tools. Being able to explore the functions of the human body or how a jet engine works gives the viewer a new type of hands-on experience. It's incredible that this technology exists and for the most part, is accessible for students and teachers.

Augmented reality applications will hold a larger place in classrooms I believe. I can see them replacing school field trips which are costly and time consuming to plan and execute. Utilizing AR, teachers can "send" students on multiple "field trips," such as exploring various museums around the world. Bringing the magnificent works of art housed at the Louvre in France may inspire students to want to travel to a foreign country to experience a new culture, or get a student excited about history through the art world. For someone such as myself who knows very little about augmented reality, it will be fun to learn.

First of all, I always enjoy listening to the British accent. Ha! Seriously though, these are really cool apps. My son had shown me the sketch app a while ago. He enjoys it because he has my artistic ability of zero. I think the Figment app looks amazing and would be a great tool to utilize in the classroom.

There are so many applications AR offers to the art world. I can see value in the creation of artistic worlds and creation of 3D forms to activate Art on the screen. The video touched on Sketch AR which is a phenomenal tool for artists just starting out or for anyone who needs confidence in the creation of simple artistic forms and drawings. The skills developed are useful in gaining confidence, and one thing I have learned about drawing is the confidence of the simple drawings leads to more discover later as the challenges grow and the fear diminishes. These AR tools will be influential in creating the artists of tomorrow.

The nerd in me really would like to see the Future of virtual reality go as far as the movies. In the classroom things like this would be very interesting and fun to use. Being in secondary education having students use their phones for different apps wouldn't be that much of an issue. On the apps I saw the freedom stories and I feel like that was the best for history. Though the quality needed to be worked on. But in the future I would love to use AR tours of places lost to history for lessons in class.
