I am in the Masters of Nursing Education track, and God willing, I hope to graduate in the fall of 2017.  I have been married to my best friend Eric for 13 years, and we have two wonderful children Avery (6), and Owen (3).  They are the light of my world, and my reasons "why".
I feel I have been on a long journey of education and career development that has finally brought me to this point.  This journey began once I obtained my first Bachelors of Science degree, in health and exercise and sports science.  My favorite aspect of my training was educating others how to live healthier lives.  Unfortunately when I graduated, nurses were taking over the jobs I wanted.  After researching nursing, I realized that the core qualities of nursing (integrity, honesty, compassion, committed to quality and excellence, life-long learner, etc.) are the same qualities I aspire to live by everyday.  So I began my pursuit of becoming an RN, and graduated with my ADN from Front Range Community College in 2008, and obtained my BSN from the University of Northern Colorado in 2013.  
Nursing has opened many doors for me and my family and now it is time for me to give back to the field, and help prepare future nurses for success in a dynamic health care system.]]> 2017-06-08 03:17:54 UTC https://padlet.com/ccampbell201/l0obnsxhxvfb/wish/175662301 ccampbell201 https://padlet.com/ccampbell201/l0obnsxhxvfb/wish/175663529 I work at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado as a Hospitalist Transitional Care RN.  My job is to assist the 30 hospitalist physicians to provide exceptional care to the patients of our community.  
I round on patients, assist with identifying patients that are declining or ready for discharge, and communicate with the physicians to help organize their days more efficiently.  I trouble-shoot barriers to discharge by working closely with the multi-disciplinary health care team to facilitate consistent and collaborative effort towards creating safer patient transitions back to the community.  It is a challenging and very rewarding position.  

I am also an Adjunct Faculty Clinical Instructor for the University of Northern Colorado. I want to learn the scope of practice of nurse educators and identify current evidence based practice findings on becoming a successful entry-level nurse educator.     
2. I would like to gain a better working knowledge of the theoretical frameworks of teaching, the various educational modalities utilized in nursing schools, and their impacts on the learning outcomes of undergraduate nursing students. 
3.  I will gain new knowledge that will positively impact my current practices as a Hospitalist Transitional Care RN and as an Adjunct Faculty Clinical Instructor, and help me reach my future goal of becoming a full-time undergraduate nursing faculty member.
