         <description><![CDATA[<p>~Queen Elizabeth was born on September 7, 1533</p><p>to King Henry VII and his second wife Anne Boleyn</p><p>~At only two years old Elizabeth lost her mother </p><p>to a beheading ordered by King Henry based on</p><p>most likely false charges of adultery. After that</p><p>she was declared illegitimate to her father. She</p><p>was later reinstated as a potential heir</p><p>~She was in competiton for the crown with her sister</p><p>Mary and her cousin Lady Jane</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>~After her half brother Edward died he appointed</p><p>Jane as the successor but Mary gained the support of</p><p>the people and unseated Jane after 9 days</p><p>~Mary put the country back under the Pope and</p><p>while Elizabeth supported her she wanted a </p><p>Protestant nation along with others. </p><p>~She was involved with Thomas Wyatt in a rebellion </p><p>against Mary in 1554 but the plot was figured out</p><p>Thomas Wyatt was executed and Elizabeth </p><p>imprisoned. She was later released. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>~After her sister's death in 1558 Elizabeth took the</p><p>crown. She was left with two problems the war with </p><p>France and religious tensions. </p><p>~She solved these problems by re-establishing the</p><p>Church of England and by working together with</p><p>William Cecil she ended the war with France. </p><p>~Mary Stuart the queen of Scots tried to take</p><p>Elizabeth from the throne claiming to be the </p><p>rightful monarch of England. Mary was her cousin</p><p>and was imprisoned for 20 before Elizabeth </p><p>agreed to execute her in 1587. </p>]]></description>

The son of her former rival, Mary Stuart, </p><p>succeeded her. </p><p>~Though the end of her reign was difficult she was </p><p>remembered as a queen who supported her people</p><p>through thick and thin and provided them with</p><p>stability and consistency. </p><p>~She even became one of England's most famous</p><p>monarchs. </p>]]></description>
