I would use this strategy in my ALP (ENGL 101/ACLT 053) classes. This strategy would be very helpful to use when students are trying to learn APA 7 format. A lot of my students say formatting stresses them out and that they never had to do it before they got to college. Bubble breathing might help decrease the anxiety and stress experienced by these students.

Source: https://www.elsanetwork.org

I would use this strategy in my ALP (ENGL 101/ACLT 053) classes. I often have students in my ALP classes that have had many negative experiences with writing during their K-12 years. When they get to college, many of them feel extremely anxious and stressed out when faced with an essay assignment. Box breathing might help alleviate their anxiety and stress.

Source: https://swaafrica.org/breathing-techniques-for-stress-and-anxiety/

I would use this strategy in my SOC 101/ENGL 102 Learning Community class. I often have students in my ENGL 102 classes who have told me that during high school, they didn't have to incorporate quoted and paraphrased sentences from readings into their essays. When they got to college, they had a hard time getting accustomed to doing this. In fact, it stressed them out. Occasional brain breaks, combined with paired and/or small group close reading activities, might help with this.

Source: https://numberdyslexia.com/brain-break-activities-and-games-ideas-for-college-older-students/

I would use this strategy in my CMNS 101/ENGL 101 Learning Community class. A lot of students in this class have a fear of public speaking, and they become extremely anxious and stressed out when they have to give a speech in front of the class. Taking five minutes at the beginning of class (on a speech day) might help to decrease their anxiety and stress.

Source: https://he.kendallhunt.com/product/college-mindfulness-workbook

I would use this strategy in my ENGL 101 and 102 classes. Some of my students experience feelings of anxiety or even panic when we are about to start on a major assignment. Doing a body scan before starting the assignment (or perhaps during a short break) might help to counteract some of these feelings.

Source: https://www.mindful.org/a-3-minute-body-scan-meditation-to-cultivate-mindfulness/

I would use this in my ALP classes. This strategy would be very helpful to use when students are first starting a project that involves technology that they are unfamiliar with. Some students stress out when they have to use something other than PowerPoint. They often wrongly assume that everyone else is familiar with the tech and everyone else is catching on faster than they are.
Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Sgyt30vuIA&t=73s
