Hello classmates, I’m going to talk about Carla’s hobbies and routine. She takes a nap every day, watches Netflix and listens to music. I'm fine thank you. And yes, I think is very nice to have a new pen pal too! My name is Amara, I'm 19 years old, I'm a student at Universidad Catolica de Valparaiso. I like listening to music, riding bikes and I reallly love taking photos. And you? Do you like taking photos?

I'm live in Limache, it's a beautiful town and I like living in here beacause there are a lots of  hills, large fields and you can see beautiful landscapes ofthe town from the top of hills. In the center of my town there is a beautiful big green park called Plaza Brasi and it's my favorite place of my town. So, do you have a favorite place in  your city? I would like to know.

I usually do my homework on weekdays, I always join my online classes, I do house chores to help my mother. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays I usually do exercise at home as well, because that makes me feel good. Sometimes on weekends I watch series, what about you? Do you like watching them? My perfect city, called Cailin,  is large with a lot of green spaces. It’s located near a beach because I like the coastal weather. Also, Cailin must be very colorful; there are many places with flowers and buildings with strong colors. Most of its buildings are modern with a renewable energy system, like solar panels or green roofs. 

Cailin there are many things to do. There are gyms, pubs, shops, restaurants, cinemas, theatres, pleasure grounds and public swimming pools. Every month there is a musical concert. Cailin promotes sports. Therefore, there are sporting events, marathons and matches of different sports. In the new year, there is a crowded festival with music, lights and fireworks. If you like sports and amusement you will love my city.

A town I 2) really like is Valparaiso because it is(3) a beautiful and interesting city. I think Valparaiso is famous for it is(4) hills because there are a lot of houses and on the streets of the hills(5) there are pretty murals with a lot of colors and shapes. In my opinion,(6) Valparaiso is attractive because of its culture and art (7). I believe, 

that’s why  many tourists come to Valparaiso.

 If you like taking photos, there are a lot of attractive places and curious buildings at the center of Valparaiso or in the hills where you can take spectacular photos.

Also,(8) in some hills you can find pubs, museums and shops. They are very cheap and the food I think is very tasty. When I go to Valparaiso I always eat in a restaurant(9).

I recommend you to visit(10) Valparaiso in New Year(11), because the fireworks show on the beach is fantastic, and on the top of the hills(12) you can see a spectacular view(13) of the fireworks.

Essay about the US and Chile:

Around the world, each country has its educational system. Some educational systems are not very good, as in the case of Chile compared to the US’s educational system, which in my opinion is much better. That is why in this essay I will contrast these two educational systems taking into account 3 aspects: until twhen education is compulsory, the cost of programs or courses and the exams in both countries.

Firstly, the education in the US is compulsory since childrens are five years old, unlike in Chile where the compulsory age is four years old.. Furthermore, American education is compulsory until students are 16 years old. Whereas in Chile, where education is compulsory until students are 18 years old. I believe it is good that students leave education at an earlier age since they can take time to think about what to do in their future and enjoy their adolescence.

Secondly, the US educational system promotes sports extensively in its educational establishments. An example of this is the traditional Ivy league among the most prestigious universities in the US. This initiative to promote sports and support young athletes seems to be an excellent idea since, in Chile, athletes have to travel to other countries to be recognized and supported.

Study in the United States has much more prestige than studying in Chile since its teaching method is recognized worldwide. This prestige can be a great help when looking for work.

In short, in the US there is a higher quality of education, with flexibility and better opportunities than Chile. I strongly believe that the Chilean educational system is less modern than the American educational system. If the US can provide a secure future for their students, why not Chile?
