Two of my students want to be meteorologists in the future. This is their passion and they like this profession because the are affected to some videos we have watched together about meteorology.
Till now no oun have expressed the desire for hidrology, but till in the end of the project , I think they will change the point of view for hydrologists.

My students are 10 - 14 years old. I have some projects where they have to prepare a speech on a weather when we learn type of words. They are usually very good at it. The hydrologist is unknown carrer for them.

When I teach Biology-Geology to 13-year-old children they feel very curious about these topics. There may be future hodrogoologists and meteorologists among them. There are rare people who know you need to be a METEOROLOGIST, so you have to graduate from a bachelor's degree in PHYSICS.
Students interested in studying physics or meteorology?
Studying physics, then in the final years (that is how studying is organized here in Croatia) to choose a course in meteorology would be extremely competent and interested in mathematics and physics. It also requires a great deal of effort and work.
The student must choose his or her own path. I would never give advice on choosing a future occupation.
There are students who are possible candidates with such a predisposition. But at present, those with high levels of physics and mathematics are studying more attractive to them and colleges that are more popular, and more interesting to them, for example: electrical engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, ......

I think students in primary schools are generally too young to have a clear vision of their future job. We are aware that some jobs won't exist in the future and that some completely new jobs will appear. As for me meteorologist and hydrologist are crucial jobs for human race. I don't know if some of my students want become meteorologist. May be, they don't consider this opportunity because nobody tell them about of the importance of this role. I think the same occurs for other professions. The way showed in this MOOC is a useful tool if teachers want that students' awarness grow. Because of Corona Virus, all my students are staying at home. We have never talked about this subject before. After studying on climate and climate change I can give information abot these careers and we can watch the video together. My students are 11-14 years old. At that age just a few of them have specific interest in a career, most of them haven't got the faintest idea of what they are going to be when they grow up. Many of them know what they are NOT going to be, which is often their parents' jobs.
